FLU PANDEMIC - End times warning?

Anyone else notice the stage being set for end times fulfillments? [Matthew 24:7; Luke 21:11] I know, I know ... the Lord might tarry another millennia! But some generation is going to be alive when it begins; will that generation be awake or asleep? Jesus said, "be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming." [Matthew 24:42]

The Scotsman is reporting on a World Health Organization (WHO) warning concerning a possible bird flu epidemic. It would be irresponsible to ignore it in light of the health habits of a large population of the world, and considering our highly mobile global community.

The world is on the brink of a bird flu pandemic that could claim the lives of millions of people, scientists warned yesterday. The WHO called an emergency conference of 20 nations to urge wealthy western countries to play a bigger role in halting the spread of avian flu.

"The world is now in the gravest possible danger of a pandemic," Shigeru Omi, of the WHO, said at the conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where health authorities are meeting to consider emergency measures to control the virus. "If the virus becomes highly contagious among humans, the health impact in terms of deaths and sickness will be enormous," Dr Omi warned in the most strongly-worded statement issued so far by the WHO.
