Sam Harris is a self-promoting, nobody atheist who has been blessed by the Peter Principle ... raised up to "his level of incompetence," only his benefactors have no idea he has been!

Writing in what used to be a worthy magazine, Harris declares John McCain's pick for Vice President a figment of imagination, a religious zealot of the first order, someone of such dysfunction that she is not worthy of our time, let alone our support.

So, I ask, why are Newsweek and the soon to be forgotten Sam Harris taking the time to mock her? The answer to that question is found in another Peter principle ...

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming?

For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

One of the dangers of keeping Sarah Palin under wraps is that it allows this kind of hyperbolic diatribe to reproduce! (see here also) Where is the danger for Harris' and his crapola, if he knows she won't be allowed to respond?

I can't agree with all of Tim Graham's take on Harris' opinion of Palin because I don't see it in the same light ... with the same worldview!

Harris has a right to his opinion; it's the subtle and quasi-intellectual fear mongering (see cristophobia) which really bothers me (CRIB emphasis). Notice ...

Her relative ignorance is guaranteed on these fronts and most others, not because she was put on the spot, or got nervous, or just happened to miss the newspaper on any given morning. Sarah Palin's ignorance is guaranteed because of how she has spent the past 44 years on earth.

I care even more about the many things Palin thinks she knows but doesn't: like her conviction that the Biblical God consciously directs world events. Needless to say, she shares this belief with millions of Americans -- but we shouldn't be eager to give these people our nuclear codes, either.

Excuse me? Who has Sam spent any quality time with regarding the "the past 44 years" of her life" Seriously, how does he know how she spent the past 44 years?

Then there is this little slip: "her conviction that ... God ... directs world events." Add Harris' own admission "millions of Americans" share "this belief" with poor Sarah!

First, this has been shown and re-shown to have taken out of context. And, second, she never said or even implied anything near to this. But will Harris' hubris allow him to discuss it reasonably and rationally? No! It won't!

And "we" shouldn't? This wee slip of the tongue tells me that he believes he, the Newsweek shakers, and their mover-readers are all of one mind. Such arrogance!

And "these people"? What smug contempt for "millions of Americans"?

Harris and Newsweek are not just mocking Sarah Palin, they've called out, by Harris' own figures, millions of Americans. But they have no fear, not of Sarah's fellow Christians (recent history shows we don't fight back against this crapola) and not of the likes of Sam Harris or the editors of Newsweek (Romans 3:18).

Most reasonable people know intuitively what this means to the intelligentsia. And most public speakers/writers avoid it when speaking to or about any minority group: women, blacks, Jews, Muslims, etc. But not to Christians, especially Christian women.

Harris and Newsweek are both guilty of what they accuse Palin - of ignorance and of spending their lives in the wrong way, without God, and therefore not knowing him or what He has said!

Race is arguably the biggest issue in this election, and it's one that nobody's talking about.

No one is talking about it because it is not an issue, let alone a big issue.

Although I must admit I encountered an anecdotal example of blue collar racism against the candidate (just yesterday), racism is not an issue in our current election campaign ... the issues are!

Cafferty's suggestion is race-baiting at its slimiest; such a thing implies a Nader voter is a racist, a Paul voter is a racist, and (most revealing) all who voted for Clinton or Edwards in their primaries are racists.

Then the CNN trooper admits it's not racism, it's political worldviews that are at work ... only he can't grasp his man is losing.

The differences between Barack Obama and John McCain couldn't be more well-defined. Obama wants to change Washington. McCain is a part of Washington and a part of the Bush legacy. Yet the polls remain close. Doesn't make sense…unless it's race.

Sorry Jack, it probably doesn't make sense to you because you're simply "out of touch."

The truth is Obama may well regain his lead! But race baiting is one of the many things troubling the public about the media and politics today, and another reason why Palin has turned so many independent and leaner heads.

Or could it be that you don't understand the real basis for the current administration's low approval ratings? Could it be he (as Limbaugh has said many times) is more popular than the polls reveal, and that his apparent unpopularity is just that, only an appearance of unpopularity?

Time magazine's Michael Grunwald says race is the elephant in the room. He says Barack Obama needs to tread lightly as he fights back against the McCain-Palin campaign attacks.

I guess he wants company with his crime.

This is all another sign of desperation on the part of Obama's supporters, as well as a prima facia case of race baiting.

Some heretics slither around the fringe of the church, damaging what they can, when they can; others openly flaunt their ignorance and disbelief, publicly slashing here, slashing there!

Such is the work of a heretic.

Wendy Doniger has not been known as a member of the latter category, having preferred the ethereal environment of the academic cloak, damaging what she can, when she can. But Sarah Palin has brought her out of her cloister, to be seen and heard by the whole world.

Having no faith in the Word of God as the Word of God, she comes out, in her Newsweek piece, speaking as if speaking for God! Warning others not to force their beliefs on others, Doniger forces her heretical views on all.

Her anthropocentric "faith" leaves no room for the God she professes believe in; instead, she amalgamates whatever feminist, liberation, mystical, secular relativism she can garner and disdainfully throws it in our path as if wearing a prophet's mantle ... insinuating to her reader, it is the only truth they need to know.

Not knowing the Truth, the Life, The Way, or Sarah Palin, she pretends to speak for God and proceeds to tell authentic believers how screwed up they are (a perfect resume for priesthood during the dark ages) ... well, the word of God has a message for Wendy Doniger, and she should listen ...

Notwithstanding her patently offensive lies concerning Sarah Palin's spiritual views (sanctity of life, abstinence, evangelism, witness, motherhood, family values, environmental issues, and just war), her appalling effrontery at pretending her own theology is orthodox, is both insulting and buffoonerish.

That people such as this can sit in academic chairs and claim objectivity is beyond my ability to comprehend; that young people might sit at her feet is beyond the pale.

You, Madame Doniger, are not only a heretic, but are probably a leftist, baby killing, treasonous capitulator, feminista-spinster, misandrist.

GIBSON: ABC's Palin interview accomplishes nothing for the left!

The point of this post is not to congratulate Governor Palin for one-upping ABC's Charles Gibson, or to bash Gibson for his condescending and irritating smugness, or to reveal some money quote everyone else missed!

No, it's to complain loudly about the media's continued presumption that they and they alone determine who runs for national office in this country, and with what credentials they must run. Who died and left them in charge of our elections?

When anyone, myself included, filters questions through his own worldview, the interview ceases to be investigative journalism and it becomes a stealth opinion piece.

Gibson's, over the top of his glasses, interrogation was the epitomy of staged foolishness. Palin's chair was obviously lower than his, giving her a hunchbacked posture (they must have removed the ticking from her seat); his questions were designed to catch the lady in a faux paux. And the lower camera angle, used to shoot from the starboard side of the duo, added an extra six inches to Gibson's height.

Our nation is a free and democratic republic, we abide by the rule of law and the paramount law of this land is our Constitution.

I find nowhere in the body of that great document (specifically concerning who qualifies for election) that any American, once meeting the citizenship and age limits, must endure an arbitrary and hostile media gauntlet or that they must present a said certain resume in order to run national office.

Our nation's leaders are elected by popular vote, under an electoral college umbrella. Any citizen may run for the office of Vice President (assuming citizenship and age qualification) and, if elected by the people, may serve until his or her term expires or until removed for cause, regardless of experience. That's what prevents us from becoming a nation of elitists ... like Charles Gibson.

I am so sick of the mindless main stream media and their leftist/socialists friends. I thought I was sick of politicians ... that was nothing to the nausea I'm having over the American media and their global cousins.

Cristophobia is running rampant among media personalities; but they still think they're filing insightful and well researched news reports.

When I hear leftists and socialists, and the MSM, speak on religious or theological aspects of Sarah Palin's faith, I am reminded of prepubescents questioning adult decisions.

It's like the Louvre hiring a playground chalk artist to make new acquisitions. It's like an air guitarist replacing Aerosmith's lead guitarist. It is flat out embarrassing ... for the critics.

So ridiculous and juvenile are their concerns and questions that authentic believers are rendered speechless.

They are mad! Very mad! Mad at McCain-Palin! Mad at you! Mad at me! Why? Because we embarrassed them during and after the RNC; because they know they are responsible for the incredible and apparently lasting McCain bump. [CNN HT - NB]

I, for one, hope they continue on this cristophobic rant; what they don't know in this case is going to hurt them big time.

Some Pentecostals from Assembly of God also believe in "faith healing" and the "end times" -- a violent upheaval that they believe will deliver Jesus Christ's second coming. [News Busters]

Both faith healing and end times are orthodox teachings of the Christian faith but are presented in such a way as to insinuate red flags for the reader.

Seemingly they were on the prowl up there in Alaska, looking for wild-eyed Christian fundamentalists at the Wasilla Bible Church, but they come up short. Her church and beliefs are very solidly mainstream.

I won't be surprised to soon hear someone suggest Palin's current church is planning an altar for slaughtering sheep in their parking lot; all because a CNN reporter saw a bulletin from five years ago which listed the hymn "Power in the Blood" in the order of service.

What am I thinking? Only church goers will know what a bulletin is or what is meant by "Order of Service."

Each of the world's religions have a language of their own; for the media to think they can learn its grammar and syntax overnight is wilder than a Hopi peyote lodge.

Stockholders have executives and Boards of Directors to make their decisions - right or wrong! How can the investors hope for fiducial responsibility from a rabble that drinks from the cesspool of popular opinion.

Here's why Intel caved!

Unfortunately, more than a few viewers saw something quite different in that imagery: a group of dark-skinned men bowing down in subservience to a smug, light-skinned overseer. The ad created enough of a controversy that Intel pulled it from the publications in which it was scheduled to appear, and Intel's vice president of Sales and Marketing issued a public apology on behalf of the company ...

We're all living a surreal lala land! God please help us?
