MUMBAI & DEMOCRACY: Dismembering the political turkey before the public's eyes!

What's the recipe for preparing and dismembering the bird of an opposing political view?

1. Sprinkle generously with a choice word here and a choice word there (planting seeds of doubt; e.g., change, right-wing, hope, fascist, Nazi, right ... as in a "right" to this and a "right" to that)
2. Rub vigorously with twists of meaning here and twists of meaning there (raising suspicions concerning motivations leading to distrust of the opposition; e.g., pro-"choice", "separation" of church and state, constitutional "right," as well as "the era of hope," "eight more years," "politics of hate")
3. Bake slowly under the watchful eye of cultural elites, academics, and a biased press (keeping the dumb-downed public's focus from real issues and the facts; e.g., immigration policy, radical Islam, government by entitlement, defense vis a vis economy)
4. Maintain temperature high enough to keep the hungry at a distance (socialists don't want the public to see the cooking bird is not really a turkey ... rather it's the democratic eagle)
5. When done, take a sledgehammer to the sucker and smash it to smithereens.

The remains will usually feed as many of the ignorant masses who want to pack their gullets with their dying liberties, freedoms, and participatory politics.

I bring this culinary delight to you as the result of seeing Martin Sullivan's all too transparent application of this recipe to Martin Wingfield's 11/28/08 post concerning the obvious ties between Islam and the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India. (See Atlas Shrugs for antisemitic tie.)

Sullivan is the principal contributor for Islamophobia Watch, an Islamic apologetics collective and news site purporting to expose Western Islamophobia.

Does he comment on the content of the post? No! Does he exposit the article with critical comment? No! Does he excise the falsehoods and present evidence of their falsity? No! Does he point to an alternate explanation or facts unavailable to or ignored by Wingfield? No! Not a word.

So what does he do? He does what all of us do when we blog, he selects what he feels are money quotes from the article and publishes those for his readers. Okay, so if we all do that, what has he done wrong?

He takes the anti-democracy recipe and applies it in his title: "Fascist draws lessons from the Mumbai terrorist attacks."

Dear reader, do you know if Wingfield is a fascist? No! But the first word off Sullivan's keyboard warns you he can't be trusted. Who would trust a fascist after all? No one in their right minds would, now would they?

Have your read Wingfield's entire post? Go there and look for misstatements of fact or distortion of the news. Enthusiasm for his viewpoint? Yes! Hyperbole? Yes!

Sullivan also adds one sweet spice to his title, the choice word "lessons." Sullivan knows that in our modern Western culture no reader wants to receive a "lesson" from a news source. That's anathema!

The only crime Wingfield has committed is that he has used what remains of Britain's freedom of speech to speak his mind.

It is true that he is a member of the dreaded BNP (British National Party), a party branded as fascist by radical Muslims throughout Europe and enabled in doing so by leftist elites, academics, and press.

GEORGIA: Our allies are watching!

Georgia’s Defeat and America’s Options | The Brussels Journal

The largest television audience ever may be focused on the 2008 Beijing Olympics at this time but the most important audience is focused on the West's response [HT: NER] to Russia's outrageous and taunting invasion of a sovereign neighbor.

Russia's intent is clear in the eyes of the world -- they want and are in the process of deposing a duly and democratically elected government ... all for military and idealogical reasons. [See here as well.]

Russia knows she will suffer no long term consequences from a world which tolerates totalitarianism, coddles petty fascists, and nods approvingly at inhumane behavior.

This reality, in light of the West's shallow response to the very real threat of soft-jihad [see here also] and America's involvements in Iraq and Afghanistan, gave Russia the stage it needed to do its dirty deed.

Much of the West's future will depend on what it does corporately from this point on. My personal concern (vis a vis my kids and their kids) is that there is no corporate West to respond at this time.

A new wave of deadly unrest in Indian Kashmir is a reminder that a peace process between India and Pakistan has failed to alleviate the frustrations of the region's Muslims ... .

Therein lies the problem! Using simple observation and anyone's general history of Islam, we must conclude Muslim "frustrations" can't be alleviated until everything is going their way, and only their way.

Apparently, once Muslim have been "offended," they've no mechanism in their teachings to consider the interests of others as more important than their own. Nor do they have any teaching to love their neighbors as themselves.

Their only observable teaching in these cases is thuggery and butchery.

The greatest commandment in Judaism and Christianity is to love God with your all in all ... Muslims loudly profess they love their Allah with all their being, even to the point of death, but fail miserably when it comes to the second greatest command: to love their neighbors ... even Muslim neighbors.

To Jews and Christians, this is supposed to be our second most important commandment from God.

This is a dangerous situation for the world ... what with Muslim unrest from the Philippines to Spain, from Denmark to Morocco, from Georgia to Sudan, and Western China to Kashmir.

If the followers of Islam continue on this path, the global community will rise up against the threat and stop it ... I hope, maybe, perhaps, possibly ... well maybe the recent global reaction to Russia's invasion of Georgia tells a different story.

I'm watching NBC's local Sunday Morning news program and I'm shocked by twenty minutes of national and international news without a mention of the war in eastern Europe (the Caucasus aka Georgia). [UPDATE: 40 MINUTES IN - it's mentioned]

We are on our way to church in a few minutes and don't have time to view other news; but if the world doesn't get it, at least a few people are laboring online to document the Russian aggression ...

Thus we see the war in the Caucasus evolve into a litmus test for the basic institutions of the West itself. If those institutions fail, especially in the eyes of its most vulnerable members, then the suffering in Georgia will, in the long run, be mere prelude. [The Brussels Journal]

TRAITORS 'R US: Why it's difficult to see Muslims as loyal!

It would be nice to believe that foreign national Muslims, legally residing in Western nations, could be loyal to their adopted homelands ... but the truth is far from that fiction.

In this day and age, believing in Lahlah-land can be fatal on the battlefield and in your local marketplace.

The UK is now aware that British Muslims are serving as insurgents in Afghanistan and fighting against British military interests there.

British Brig. Ed Butler is quoted in the Telegraph ...

"There are British passport holders who live in the U.K. who are being found in places like Kandahar."

Earlier this year, it was revealed that RAF Nimrod spyplanes monitoring Taliban radio signals in Afghanistan had heard militants speaking with Yorkshire and Midlands accents. [...]

Butler, 46, said he had seen evidence that terror groups based in southern Afghanistan were plotting with Muslim extremists in Britain to carry out terror attacks in the UK. "There is a link between Kandahar and urban conurbations in the UK," said Brig. Butler. "This is something the military understands but the British public does not."

I guess it would go something like this: "I say old sot, let's don our turbans, strap on one of those vest things there, and take a goodly stroll to the market! Say what chap?"

I know, I know, "not all Muslims are like that!" You're right, I admit it. And not all snakes are like Black Mambas, or other poisonous varieties either. But I'm still distrusting of everything that slithers and has no legs; more so when my family is threatened by them.

These are hard times for civilized people, believing the difficult to believe, turning the other cheek, and blind tolerance will get our loved ones killed ... if not soon, soon enough.

ISLAM: Confessions of an Islamophobe!

Col. Bud Day and the John McCain campaign are catching a lot of heat today for a remark attributed to Day and apparently redacted later through a another McCain surrogate.

Well, they (at least their leaders; HT: FrontPage) "have said they're going to kill us"! And, to the best of my recollection, they (Muslims) have not risen up with a united voice and condemned what their leaders "have said."

My worldview is an admixture of what I know to be true and what I believe to be true; and, thanks to definitions provided by Islamophobia Watch, (a decent and, for the most part, fair Muslim apologetics blog) I've discovered I am an Islamophobe!

According to IW an Islamophobe is ...

This definition, from the 1997 document 'Islamophobia: A Challenge For Us All' is widely accepted, including by the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia.
The eight components are:

1) Islam is seen as a monolithic bloc, static and unresponsive to change.
2) Islam is seen as separate and 'other'. It does not have values in common with other cultures, is not affected by them and does not influence them.
3) Islam is seen as inferior to the West. It is seen as barbaric, irrational, primitive and sexist.
4) Islam is seen as violent, aggressive, threatening, supportive of terrorism and engaged in a 'clash of civilisations'.
5) Islam is seen as a political ideology and is used for political or military advantage.
6) Criticisms made of the West by Islam are rejected out of hand.
7) Hostility towards Islam is used to justify discriminatory practices towards Muslims and exclusion of Muslims from mainstream society.
8) Anti-Muslim hostility is seen as natural or normal.

Clearly I am phobic about Islam and Muslims ... with the exception of the second clause in the second sentence of number 2, the first half of number 3, the essence of numbers 6 & 7 ... I am guilty of it all. Other definitions on the page provided little help with this politically incorrect malady.

People whose lives and way of life are threatened tend to be that way. Duh!

IW's post (a reflection of the Miami Herald's report) goes on to catalog several prominent Muslim's reactions to the Day comments; what's missing is any reference to their indignation concerning any of the innumerable atrocities committed daily in the Muslim world (here, here, or here) that have led Day and others to hold this low view of Islam and its Muslim adherents!

I'd even accept a broad-brush generalization to the effect that Islam has a global problem with fanatical teachers, preachers, politicos, and followers ... and many innocent people are suffering horribly in the name of Allah at the hands of vast numbers of Mohammed's followers.

AMERICA: A nation built on an idea not a bloodline!

Andrew Klavan has written an excellent piece on his recent experience at Braggistan, a training site at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. The facilities and "Capstone exercises" are intended to prepare our men and women for duty in Afghanistan.

Keep in mind, for most of them, defending themselves and each other is a secondary assignment - reconstruction and building infrastructure is their primary assignment.

They’re being deployed in Afghanistan to try to help build a civil society there in the after-wreckage of the Taliban.

At any rate, Klavan is writing about a third assignment of our military - public relations. A task they are failing miserably at! Here, in his words, is the reason it is critical to our nation and the world ...

Now you may say that capturing the imagination isn’t the job of our fighting forces. But this is America, remember: we’re a country of the imagination, a living state of mind. We’re not connected to one another by bloodlines or any depth of native memory. We’re the descendants of an idea that every generation has to learn to hold in its collective consciousness. More than in any other country, it matters in America who we think we are and what we believe we’re doing.

Therein lies the dysfunction: those responsible for teaching the next generation this timeless truth have failed in their collective responsibility.

The author points out that while liberals and the entertainment industries are tearing our military and nation apart, with their anti-American propaganda, the military is missing a classic opportunity to tell the real story.

Our academies, the news media that train in the academies, and the entertainment industry that’s informed by the news media have become ... a sort of alternative state of the imagination, a kingdom of lies founded in the muck of hysterical guilt, historical distortion, and philosophical solipsism. In their fantastic and labyrinthine narrative, our fascist foes are Nemesis, the emanation of our own sins, and therefore our military can only be the mad or foolish servants of evil.

JUDICIAL TERRORISM: The rising tide of anti-American "lawfare"!

Sens. Arlen Spector and Joe LIbermann have teamed up to bring legislation before the Congress that needs our support.

In today's Wall Street Journal's Op Ed page is a marvelously encouraging summary of "the Free Speech Protection Act of 2008."

Our bill bars U.S. courts from enforcing libel judgments issued in foreign courts against U.S. residents, if the speech would not be libelous under American law. The bill also permits American authors and publishers to countersue if the material is protected by the First Amendment. If a jury finds that the foreign suit is part of a scheme to suppress free speech rights, it may award treble damages.

This is much needed legislation ...

Our Constitution is one of our greatest assets in the fight against terrorism. A free-flowing marketplace of ideas, protected by the First Amendment, enables the ideals of democracy to defeat the totalitarian vision of al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations.

That free marketplace faces a threat. Individuals with alleged connections to terrorist activity are filing libel suits and winning judgments in foreign courts against American researchers who publish on these matters. These suits intimidate and even silence writers and publishers.

ISLAM: And the 4th of July (USA)!

Last night, while reading subscribed news and views, I ruminated on the global problem of Islam. One thing that bothers a lot of people is the vocabulary of the War on Terror (WOT) and the desire by the world's bleeding hearts to avoid confronting truth when it is staring them in the face.

These sincere and intelligent members of the human race (for the most part) are trying desperately to avoid being intolerant, racist, and Islamophobic. Good for them; but it just won't fly! Coining new terms and phrases just pushes the ostrich's head further in the sand ... the lion will still devour those fat breasts.

You can't be tolerant of what is intentionally intolerant of you (they won't let you); you can't be racist toward a group or organization that has no common racial identity (regardless of what the multiculturalists tell you); and there is nothing uncivil or asocial about fear, it is an emotion, like love, and comes naturally (it's there for our protection) and we all have the right to fear Islam.

So, yes, I am an Islamophobic ... I fear Islam, and I am unashamed.

It is a lie anyway, based on lies and half-truths. Apart from its outrageous eternal prognostications and promises, it is principally a "this world" theology and philosophy. Holding forth little in the way hope or answers for man's problems (even their charitable work is political) in this life or the next.

Upon inspection, Islam can't hold a candle to Judaism or Christianity. Their's is a geopolitical movement, it always has been. From the day their founder died and went before the Judge of judges, they've sought to conquer nations not souls.

On the one hand, the do-gooders would have us speak using a manufactured vocabulary (e.g. Islamophobia, Jihadist), redefining old tried and true terms (e.g., racist, defamation), diverting the attention of the masses. Their intent is to avoid painting innocents with the same brush as the guilty. Cannot do!

If Muslim diplomats the world over were to lobby for international and Western laws against blasphemy, that would likely trigger [one] reaction -- not just from those who believe in Christianity, Judaism, etc., but from atheists, too, who might not go quietly into a merger of mosque and state.

But calling blasphemy by the word "defamation" (and making up a special new word to mislead the proposed law's targets), makes sure that fewer alarm bells in the West will ring. It transforms an attempt to Islamicize our entire legal system into merely another lawsuit amongst countless others. That's the diplomatic sleight-of-hand that [they are] peddling.

One of the sad and grievable facts of warfare (and even though this is an atypical and asymmetrical war, it is war all the same ... to the death and for the survival of Western Civilization), is that innocents suffer right along with the rest of us. Consider the following anecdote:

On the Fourth of July, here in the United States, we spend a lot of time and money blowing and burning things up (fireworks to be specific).

We also spend a great deal of time . Why? Because they are dangerous (the fireworks) and irresponsible (the children). It is because we love our families that most of us take the necessary precautions to keep the former out of the hands of the latter.

Now fireworks come in all kinds and styles, shapes and sizes, colors and outcomes. Some fireworks are relatively harmless, but the irresponsibility and creativity of kids in combination has a remarkable history of disaster. It would be unwise for us to allow our children to be exposed, on a personal level, to something with a potential for disaster on this scale.

You can still purchase fireworks that will literally blow up a car, bind a few of them together and you can blow up a bus full of people, or blow up yourself. Airlines will not allow you carry any fireworks onto an aircraft ... especially since 911 ... and it is not racial profiling if you are caught trying to do so.

And so it is with Islam. Not all of Islam is a danger to the world, but most of it is; and the potential for disaster in the hands of the wrong people makes Islam a danger to all of us. They too have their big ones, those that can find ways to do a lot of damage and ruin a lot of lives; get enough of the dangerous ones together in the wrong place and you can end up in a world of hurt.

Now I won't let my grandkids touch any of the fireworks, since to them they are all dangerous; but for my teenage daughter and my adult children it is a different thing; still my older son and I handle and ignite the really big ones ... they are very dangerous, even in our cautious hands. So he and I announce to one and all, we've a war against improper exposure to our fireworks each year, and we profile the whole lot to separate them according to their danger to our families.

So I don't want anyone around Islam; it is a dangerous thing. Not all Muslims are dangerous, but enough of them threaten the stability of life as we know it to make me warn them of all Muslims. When it comes to the really big Muslims, you can't tell them apart from the little ones (and vice versa), so to heck with them all.

As The CRIB has said many times before, if Muslims won't cleanup their own yard, someone will have to clean it up for them.

It is because we love our people, nation, and way of life (as flawed as it is) that we want to keep Islam away from our people, our nation, and our lives ... at least in this life and in this world.

Fortunately we hear more voices of reason (also here) speaking out against the duplicity of Islam and her promoters.

this month, [Washington Time]'s Bill Gertz reported on ... the termination of Maj. Stephen Coughlin (USAR). Mr. Coughlin, a lawyer and reserve military intelligence officer, has been the Pentagon's sole specialist on Islamic law charged with lecturing senior officers on jihad doctrine — military leaders who have been fighting the so-called war on terror for years without an inkling of Islamic ideology. His contract with the Joint Staff will end in March, Mr. Gertz wrote, because Mr. Coughlin "had run afoul of a key aide" to the Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England.

I know mushrooms grow in moist, hot, smelly, dark places but where do this idiots come from???

It's amazing to see our own leaders betraying us to a bunch of backward fanatics ... greatest country in the history of mankind falling to a people without a nation to call their own, and who have not contributed anything to the betterment of man for centuries.

Yes, Virginia, there is a God! And He is very upset with America!

TERROR: I told you so!

I recently posted on the foolish, immature, short-sighted, appeasing mentality of Western bureaucrats ... and I warned that the recent release of the Korean hostages, through bribery, would only embolden the terrorists.

Afghanistan's Taliban plan to abduct and kill more nationals from foreign countries whose troops serve under NATO and the U.S. military in the country, a spokesman for the Islamic movement warned on Monday.

"Whose troops serve"! How blind our leaders have become; how earnestly they desire to repeat history.

The vow comes just days after the Taliban released 19 South Korean hostages after their government struck a deal that critics said sets a dangerous precedent that could spur more kidnappings and make life even more dangerous for foreigners.

The West simply doesn't grasp or understand the mind and heart of a terrorist; their juvenile, psychobabblistic thinking paints them into corner after corner. And they consider themselves educated men and women ... they may be, but they lack what I know as common sense.

"We consider it (kidnapping) as an arm that can help us in imparting a blow to the enemy," Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location.

For the most part they idolize hate, and they covet the image of fear in an enemies eyes! What else could you expect from someone who has nothing but an AK-47 or an RPG to their name; and the promise of three unearned meals a day.

TERROR: True, just don't forget the name of this game!

That's right, the press (here and here) is reporting the release of the last of the Korean Christian hostages held in Afghanistan. We should all be grateful to God that this nightmare is over ... for the moment.

However, let's not forget the name of the game these jerks play: TERROR! It's not secular idealism, it's not Muhammadism, it's not geopolitics, and it's certainly not religion. It is terrorism and murder and kidnapping and intimidation and fear and hate and evil and every other sick thing men do in their effort to rule over others.

AND DON'T YOU SUPERFICIAL LOW-LIFE NINCOMPOOPS EVER FORGET THE TWO YOUNG MEN (here and here) WHO WERE MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD before your bleeding heart, relativistic globalistic comrades appeased these butchers. AND DON'T YOU SPINELESS WIMPS EVER SLEEP AT NIGHT AGAIN WITHOUT REMEMBERING THE PRICE THE WORLD WILL PAY FOR YEARS TO COME because of your lowbrowed political worldview.

Increased amounts of opium will flow into the West as a result of the appeasement conducted behind the scenes by nameless and soulless politicians and bureaucrats. That doesn't even address the reality that they will just take more Westerners as soon as the bank the ransom.

ISLAM: Enough - Forcing Reasonable People to Become Unreasonable!

I'm reaching the point of exhaustion with all this kowtowing to Muslims; all over the world we're seeing Westerners genuflect to Muhammadans and their aberrant expectations of others ... no grace, no geniality, no give, no indication of live and let live! I'm tired of it all!

If I were younger I'd give serious thought to going underground.

A popular comic strip that poked fun at the Rev. Jerry Falwell without incident one week ago was deemed too controversial to run over the weekend because this time it took a humorous swipe at Muslim fundamentalists.

The Washington Post and several other newspapers around the country did not run Sunday's installment of Berkeley Breathed's "Opus," in which the spiritual fad-seeking character Lola Granola appears in a headscarf and explains to her boyfriend, Steve, why she wants to become a radical Islamist. This, in a country that values free speech and individual liberty. The above followed yesterday's news about the troops who put their lives on the line everyday!

The U.S. military regrets any offense it may have caused by handing out a soccer ball emblazoned with the name of Allah on it as part of a public relations exercise in Afghanistan, a spokesman said.

At least one of the balls — which were dropped by helicopter to children in Khost province in eastern Afghanistan on Friday — carried a small picture of the Saudi Arabian flag. The flag features in Arabic script the Islamic declaration of faith, which contains the words Allah and the Prophet Muhammad.

Villagers were "upset and angry" when they saw the ball, said Khost governor Arsalah Jamal. "They wanted to demonstrate, but we explained to them it was a mistake," he said Monday. [FOX]

A mistake! How about a well-intentioned faux pax but not a mistake! And how about playing Russian Roulette nationally?

TROOPS: YouTube Video Says It All!

Regular readers know that I am often an irreverent preacher and operate outside other people's boxes; they also know that I have a low opinion of those with gutter-vocabularies. They should also know this fourth rendition of The SHEEP'S CRIB has as its primary focus - the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

That said, I am also a patriot and a supporter of the valuable job being done by our men and women in uniform ... this YouTube video has lousy language, but if you love our troops go watch it.

I accept the language because that's the way the lead character was in real life ... there's history involved afterall!
