ISLAM: And so it comes to pass!

Swiss minaretOver one millennia ago, Muhammadans designed minarets into their houses of worship. Now, when built in traditionally Western towns and cities, they stick out like a sore thumb. And, rightly or wrongly, people complain.

Over one millennia ago, Christians began to designed crosses into their houses of worship. Then, as now, when built in traditionally Western towns and cities, they didn't and don't stick out like a sore thumb to the "christian" city fathers, planners, or citizens.

German CathedralBut they do, and have, for centuries, to Muslims. Especially when built along the lines of cathedral architecture.

The design concepts accomplish two common objectives in the worldviews of Muslims and Christians; first, to glorify their respective Gods and, second, to assist in city wide awareness of their location and presence.

Had authentic Christians (Matthew 7:22) in those communities where the cloud scrapping minarets have become an eye irritation been obedient to their God's instructions (Matthew 28:18-20) they would not now be suffering this communal angst.

That Islam is now in ascendancy in the West is the fault of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13), not the fault of Islam or the local government. To their credit they are doing what their teachings tell them to do.

It is also the fault of the Western Body of Christ to have developed an economy so dependent on oil ... for oil is the cash cow of Islam's growth. Without the petro-dollars they now enjoy, they couldn't build a chicken hutch in my backyard.

So, "church," don't complain to government agents or bureaucrats when an enclave of Muhammadans move into your town; instead, organize a community wide outreach (Acts 1:7-8) at your church, with your members, next Sunday afternoon.

PROPHETIC VOICE: Be assured America's respect for life will soon end after Europe falls!

If the gist of this report is true ... no rational reason to assume it's not ... then all we have to do is wait until the EU shoe drops, the cheap thud of the USA shoe won't be far behind ...
Pro-life and pro-family campaigners have been warned to expect the publication of documents, funded by the European Union, promoting abortion, euthanasia and other anti-life and anti-family practices. These documents will purportedly allow “zero tolerance for dissent,” in particular seeking to eradicate the right to conscientious objection. [LifeSite News; h/t Black Kettle]
If this continues at its present pace, I envision a Christian Masada on every continent at some point ... unless the Lord takes us up first (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
The movement towards removing the right of “conscientious objection” has also become a looming concern in the United States. President-Elect Barack Obama has promised to sign into law the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), should it be passed by Congress. FOCA would force all hospitals and medical professionals to provide abortions, with no rights of conscientious objection.
The man calls himself a Christian but he is a fraud, a total fraud.

HOMOSEXUALS: The incredible mind games of "do gooders"!

The incredible mind games of the left!

Homo Suicide Poster
English translation of text:
The only difference between homosexuality and heterosexuality is homophobia.

When you are an adolescent and wondering about your emotional and sexual orientation, you may unfortunately also discover homophobia and its violence. This period in your life is often difficult to endure and can lead to serious problems, sometimes even suicide.

A national re-education campaign signed by: The Ministry of Health, Youth, Sports and Related Associations; and the National Institute of Health.
(CRIB emphasis)
Re-education? Seems to me Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Fidel, Hugo and Ho Chi have all tried this with abysmal results.

As a heterosexual I assure you there is a plethora of difference between hetero and homosexuality.

But the "suicide" phrase? That makes me wonder if the liberal/left is capable of doing anything but harm to the cultures where they've taken political root!

The Brussels Journal asks -
"Does it help to warn them that they may be headed for suicide?"
A mere suggestion or insinuation is all that's needed for a confused young person to take their own life.

PROPHETIC VOICE: The American Angle of Repose!

I've no idea why I'm writing this post; perhaps it's my "I told you so" ego; I no longer have any confidence that anyone is listening ... regardless, America is in danger of leaning so far left it will be unable to move back to the right.

There is a principle of physics (engineering mainly) called the "the angle of repose" and is related to "the angle of recline" ... its political application might be described like this:
The "angle of repose" in political philosophy is the maximum angle to which a political party/group may be tilted before its underlying principles give way (e.g., snowflakes prior to an avalanche).

Or "the angle of recline" in political philosophy is the maximum angle which a political party/group at rest may be tilted before it irrecoverably breaks the restraining friction upon which it rests, commencing to slide until forcibly stopped by an external force.
Another way to describe this danger is by way of illustration: in the state of Georgia there is a Civil War memorial called Stone Mountain, on the top of which is a warning sign and (I am told) a line painted beyond which the sight seer may not pass. This point is the point beyond which the visitor will be unable to return to a fixed position.

In the case of political philosophies, proceeding experimentally or vicariously beyond a particular point will always result in an irreversible forward motion and the inability to recover one's footing.

The linked post (and hundreds of others) at The Brussels Journal simple points out that Europe, in real time, has passed that point. It will, short of a continental civil war, never recover its once glorious footing. The inattentive citizens of Europe have had their freedom and liberty stolen in broad daylight by godless, leftist, self-absorbed bureaucrats.

The people of the United States of America are being manipulated by the same deranged leftist/liberal political philosophy ... I fear they've collectively passed or are in the process of passing America's unseen angle of repose or angle of recline.

ISLAM: Call me an Islamophobe but ... !

Some day, perhaps not in my lifetime, WWIII will commence. A war of the west against the evil empire of the east - Islam. Not everyone on either side will be in favor of this conflict but its commencement and conduct are not in the range of their control.

The North American theatre is well under way, with Canada going as Europe goes. The USA front has a unique character to ti ...
Many black racists ... are key figures in [a] “stealth” jihad, whose prime recruiting grounds are the U.S. prisons and mosques where inmates and worshippers alike are taught to embrace a radical Islam engaged in an apocalyptic battle against America.
The European theatre of this Third Jihad has almost resulted in a Eurabia, a union of the EU (not with popular support either) and the Arabian states of the Middle East (Israel was not invited ... go figure).

Our ally, Saudi Arabia, W's close desert friends, is footing the bill for the Jihad's foot soldiers in the land of the free ...
... Saudis ... have spent many millions of dollars funding a majority of America’s mosques, and have dispatched Imams from a number of Middle Eastern nations to settle in the U.S. as missionaries.

Faheem Shuaibe, an Imam at a predominately black mosque in California, says that Saudi Arabia has set up “a very deliberate recruitment process … trying to find black Muslims who had a real potential for Islamic learning and also for submission to their agenda” of Wahhabi extremism.
Some might say these clandestine enemies don't stand a chance against our intel services, but need I remind you of the 9/11, Iraq, and Taliban failures of recent years? I would suggest my fellow Americans not put much faith in either ourdomestic or our international operations.
Pakistani religious leaders Sami ul-Haq and Fazrul Rehman predict that “in the next 10 years, Americans will wake up to the existence of an Islamic army in their midst—an army of jihadis who will force America to abandon imperialism and listen to the voice of Allah.”
The belief among Muslims worldwide is that America is the new Crusader. The belief among black American racists is that all whiteys are still fundamentally non-reformable slavers.
Other black racist Islamists play less glamorous but equally significant roles as Imams at major mosques in the U.S.; as chaplains in prisons and jails; and as radical figures who haunt American higher education by advising and speaking for organizations such as the Muslim Students Association (MSA) on campuses across the nation.

Whatever audience they target, they speak a lingua franca of anti-white, anti-Semitic, anti-American hatred—all in the name of Allah.
The Judeo-Christian focus on the next life as opposed to the Muslim focus on this life is a powerful and dividing force; one that allows the former to coexist in this world, but forces the other to conquest of this world.

WWIII is coming, as sure as the sun will rise in the morning ... unless the sun that rises tomorrow is the Son that has risen.

EUROPEAN CONNECTION: Don't fence me in ... I'm religious and political?

America is going the way of Europe ...
unbeknown to the majority of her citizens!

John Steinbeck's novella was titled - Of Mice and Men; but God said - of neither mice nor men ...
Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation." For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.

But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.

2 Peter 3:3-10
But first a metaphorical interlude ...
Farmer Jones was content with his life's work: his terraced fields were solid and easily maintained; his dual-source irrigation system was state of the art; his stock fine and deep in DNA; his bio-seed stores unrivaled; and his children and grandchildren legally provided for ... a century at least if the wisdom they were taught ruled their lives.

But his neighbor was not so content, nor so wise: when the 100 year flood came, it took his poorly built terraces, polluted his wells, killed his stock, saturated his seed stores, and took the house and barns as a final thought. On their way to removing the new county road, the waters and the flotsam and jetsam undermined Jones' terraces and took his farm too!
Though the global financial crisis is the easiest correlation here, the demise of Europe as a viable Western ally will cascade across the sea and destroy all that is not destroyed by the fiduciary failure of our financial community.

So how is it that I see America following Europe's lead in to oblivion?

First, Europe's new leaders believe they can correct "mistakes" of the past (Crusades, wars, poverty, inhumanity, etc.) by ignoring almost 1,500 years of Christian influence.
Papal mutterings about this perceived "apostasy" have been increasing in volume for some time now - but what really infuriated the Vatican was the presentation, back in 2003, of the first draft of the ill-fated European constitution.

In its preamble, the authors had indulged themselves in a spot of root-tracing. Europe's debt to ancient Greece and Rome was solemnly acknowledged. So, too, were the achievements of the Enlightenment. About the Christian roots of European civilisation, however, there was nothing.

The implication was obvious: everything between Marcus Aurelius and Voltaire was to be reckoned mere backwardness and superstition. [...]

Today's secular Europe may well pride itself on having arrived at a post-religious state of moral and intellectual superiority - but it is no less Christendom's heir for that.
In the USA it is a popular recreation, and Starbucks' moment, to wax on about our evil and religious past, while revealing a severe case of anti-religious ignorance marinated in an unhealthy canister of secular arrogance; in so doing the secular humanist, not seeing the baby in the dirty water, throws it out.

What they conveniently forget in their snobbery is the existence of such grand institutions as Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, Loyola; the multiple and nationwide hospitals of the Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, Catholics, the benevolent work of the Amish, Mennonites, the Salvation Army, the Knights of Columbus, and the senior care and retirement facilities of manifold others, etc. and etc.

All undeniable foundational and historically relevant religious entities.

Second, Europe's new leaders believe they can get away with the former if they "ring-fence" all religions and politics.
... the con viction [sic] that the religious and political spheres should be rigorously ring-fenced - and even more rigorously patrolled - has widespread support in Brussels. As one group of MEPs protested, in an official letter of complaint to the president of the European Parliament: "The EU is of a secular and neutral nature."
Almost daily, in America, someone (usually a politician but also an entertainer or academician), somewhere stands to condemn all things religious, throwing the baby, the water, and the clean out together.

A good example of this attitude of the left is the fairness doctrine (it's believed by some that this abomination will be reinstated in the event of an Obama victory); this is nothing more than cristophobia in drag.

Third, Europe's new leaders believe there are no absolutes and are willing to institute a broad set of absolutes to stop belief in them.
Pope Benedict asked last year: ‘Is it not surprising that today's Europe, while hoping to be seen as a community of values, more and more seems to contest that universal and absolute values exist?’

Yet he ought to have made it clear that the EU has developed its own universal and absolute articles of faith which are not neutral, but decidedly anti.

If a state seeks to be neutral in the effect of its policies then it requires a greater level of state intervention to ensure that inequalities are negated.
[Cranmer]
A refreshing wind in all of this elitist duplicity and stupidity is Benedict XVI's adamant stand against the EU Parliament's efforts to bury their heads in the sand.

Most of our (America's) cultural war has been fought on this battlefield ... sanctity of human life, separation of church and state, Constitutional law and legislating from the bench, capital punishment, free speech, etc.
Cranmer is with Pope Benedict XVI in his opposition to the EU’s militant secularism.

One cannot be ‘neutral’ in matters of religion - pretending to broker between ‘equal’ faiths and impartial in arbitration between competing worldviews - for that neutrality presupposes a higher level of knowledge and constitutes itself an article of faith. There is no neutrality to be had because neutrality needs as much justification as any other position.
Secular humanism has progressively become more absolutist in its quest to silence conservatives and people of faith by ridiculing the belief in absolutes ... and the irony seems to be lost on them.

Fourth, multiculturalism has been the weapon of choice for Europe and the European Union ... a weapon incapable of aiding in a suicide ... for combating the Third Jihad.
With Wall Street convulsing, and the White House race intensifying, the question "Who lost Europe" is on no one's lips, let alone minds. Indeed, the question begs another: "Is Europe lost?"

The answer to the second question is, "No, not yet." And losing Europe, I would add, is by no means inevitable. But that doesn't mean the continent isn't currently hell-bent to accommodate the dictates of Islamic law, bit by increasingly larger bit. Such a course of accommodation, barring reversal, will only hasten Bernard Lewis' famous prediction that Europe will be Islamic by century's end.
[Diana West]
The USA has been duped into a multicultural stupor by leftists and special interest groups; Islamic groups have used this stupor to their advantage. If America doesn't wake up, it will have more than an illegal immigration problem.
The west faces increasing tension with the Muslim world. [...]

As the first decade of the third Christian millennium draws to an increasingly troubled close, the verdict of historians on its significance can already be anticipated. Two themes will predominate. The first, exemplified by the present carnage in the financial markets, will be the quickening of the west's decline relative to China and India; the second, not entirely coincidentally, will be the tensions in the relationship between the west and the Muslim world.
A bleak picture indeed ... for a nation so self-absorbed and carnal that it might well face a day not too distant when it cannot defend itself. A nation's military security is intrinsically tied to its economic security ... and as we found when Russia invaded Georgia, we're lacking in both areas.

ISLAM: Can the world's masses be that stupid?

Swiss to Vote on Towers of Islam | The Brussels Journal
Today any complaint which isn't leftist or socialist in origin is racist; likewise, any complaint against Muslims is ipso facto Islamophobia.
Far right groups in Switzerland have collected enough signatures to force a nationwide referendum on banning minarets, the distinctive towers of Islamic architecture.

In what is being seen as a sign of growing Islamophobia in Europe, more than 100,000 Swiss citizens signed a petition to halt the construction of minarets.
Hawgwash! Most just don't like the things; they remind them of societies and cultures they don't agree with and want nothing to do with ... besides, they're just plain ugly!

However, to be honest, according to Swiss Info the minaret below "is one of only two in Switzerland"; but the source is two years old at this time ... could be a hundred by now.

[…] The president of Switzerland, Pascal Couchepin, said the government would recommend that voters rejected (sic) the proposed minaret ban.
The pressure on the government due to treaty entanglements must be intense; once again, the governed pay the price for the errors of their governors!
[…] The UN expert on racism, Doudou Diene, has said the campaign is evidence of an "ever-increasing trend" toward anti-Islamic actions in Europe.
And who is to blame for that? That's like a southern plantation "masta" blaming Lincoln and Wilberforce for the slave trade.
Switzerland should avoid prejudice towards its Muslim community to avoid the mistakes of other states, renowned Middle East expert Arnold Hottinger tells swissinfo.

The veteran journalist dismissed recent "relatively harmless" attempts by the rightwing Swiss People's Party to ban minarets in Zurich, but warned against stereotyping Muslims as aggressors.
Excuse me? Stereotyping Muslims "as aggressors"? Since when weren't they in this century?

FAMILY: They can run but they can't hide!

Sometimes it pays off to read a less than exciting article all the way to the end; John Laughland's piece in today's The Brussels Journal was such a piece; his final paragraph is spot on!
Through left-liberalism, European nations have systematically destroyed the values which, as extended families, they once embodied. The admission into their midst of very large numbers of people who will never be part of the family aggravates what is already a serious problem of social dislocation.

The attempt to reverse this trend by emphasising values may be a laudable one, but it can never succeed because the liberal paradigm on which it is based is wrong. It assumes that human societies are comparable to private companies and based on contract, when instead they are in fact comparable to families and based on the principles of blood relationship and paternity. That is a something which no amount of political sophistry can hide.
Canada also joined in this social-engineering program ... since their bureaucracy is a far more liberal variant at the moment, the effects of their meddling with their culture, society, and traditions is having a far more dramatic effect.

Clearly the United States is seeing dramatic evidence of the leading edge of this liberal dysfunction ... God ordained marriage as the medium through which the family best performs. What is surprising to see is the mob denial of leftists and liberals as the evidence continues to poor in.

The role of immigration in this national disintegration is becoming clearer with time. God revealed His compassion for the foreigner in the midst of Israel, but He warned the nation not to allow him to run things or be a part of His worship until he himself joined Israel in that worship.

ANTI-AMERICANISM: Out of the darkness comes the voice of reason!

The result of 25-plus years of this destructive and dehumanizing ideology [Conservatism] ruined America, dismantled social safety nets, demonized the poor, destroyed jobs and education funding – and turned American society to one that is unbearable for all except the rich and the well off. […]

What was largely with brutal craft of Ronald Reagan may take Americans 25-plus years to repair and undo. What is most alarming is that this brutal and dehumanizing social economic system now seeking to infect European society and give it these same illnesses that have left America a human wasteland.

Europeans must identify this strain of virus called American conservativism – and inoculate itself against it… Yellow Stars
HT: The Brussels Journal

This is all very interesting. How is it then that the major source of aid in Myanmar was US aid? And recently in Bangladesh, and earlier in India? And last year in Peru? And a few years ago in Iran? All while taking on Katrina and Rita!

And "this strain of virus called American conservativism," what about its impact on AIDS in Africa? A Bush program?

Where, pray tell, has the UN been in the war on AIDS in Africa? Oh that's right, it's been busy sending child molesters and rapist security personnel to the dark continent!

And that awful tsunami that took over 200,000 souls? Were those "brutal and dehumanizing" naval vessels off the shores of Sri Lanka, India, and Indonesia? They must have had holds full of conservative propaganda!

And then there is this story in the news today -
The United States will spend an additional $1.25 billion on international food aid donations this year and next as donor countries seek to blunt the effects of soaring food prices on the world's poor.
And this just in -
A United States freighter began unloading tons of American wheat in Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, on Monday, as the government agreed to give international aid workers unprecedented access to its isolated, hunger-stricken territory, the United Nations World Food Program said.

The shipment is the first installment of 500,000 tons in promised American aid to be distributed by the World Food Program and American groups like Mercy Corps. The aid, and the North Korean agreement to invite 50 more food program experts and a consortium of American relief agencies, followed recent progress in efforts to end the North’s nuclear weapons program.
Those damnable sumsabeaches! They use any trick they can find to snooker those ignorant savages and export their sick "American Conservatism." Get me a syringe, quick! Poor people are being fed by these Reagonian ogres!

Who do they think they are fooling with these government orchestrated disaster stories out of Iowa and Missouri? And those fake fires in California? Conservative propaganda to conceal their failure to take care of there own.

Where do people like this idiot E. S. LaPorte come from? And why do people give a hoot what she thinks?

ESCHATOLOGY: The End of An Age!

It's just my opinion but I believe we crossed an invisible line in this sin-darkened world when we entered 2008.

The bible is clear that a day will come when the end will be clearly seen [See 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 below].

Some generation has to alive when that happens; up to the rapture of the church, Christians will participate in the events and culture of that day. There is no escaping the fact that some generation of believers will be known for its unholy "apostasy."

For the past two millennia believers from Paul to Pope, from clergy to laity, from apostate to fanatic have announced that their's is the age of the end ... I have books and pamphlets and magazines in my library from the 19th and 20th centuries showing just how often prognosticators have erred in this judgment.

That said, one can't escape the daily onslaught of material which reminds us of the signs of the end ... and even the Lord Himself warned us to be ever vigilant. Perhaps a reminder of His warnings would be helpful ...
"It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert. Therefore, be on the alert--for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning-- in case he should come suddenly and find you asleep. What I say to you I say to all, 'Be on the alert!'"
Mark 13:34-37
I could go on; but what I want to do is point to headlines of the past 24 hours, items culled from news feeds.

THOUGHT POLICE GONE MAD:

Two citations -
1. ... the notion that publications in the Western world could staunch the violence on the Muslim street half a world away by not reprinting [those Danish] cartoons, was ludicrous, even if most politically correct talking heads nodded knowingly at the suggestion that reprinting them would make matters worse. [National Post]

2. The blogger TomaShot, who operated the now defunct Uutisia Suomesta website, a catalogue for various news stories and articles that dealt with immigration, Political Correctness and other Eurabia related issues, was dealt a serious blow by Finland’s judicial system today.

He was fined 825€ and ordered to close down his website. […] […] [H]As far as I know, TomaShot’s webpages contained very little of his own material, it was more of a repository for news articles and blog postse was convicted for republishing snippets of posts and articles of stories the courts deemed unflattering towards minorities. [Tundra Tabloid; HT: Black Kettle]
And a third egregious example is that of Ezra Lavant, the former publisher of The Western Standard, went against the system in Canada and republished them; he is now on "trial" for offending Muslims by the act. The simple fact he has to defend his free speech rights before the Canadian Human Rights Commission (sic) is indicative of evil's victory in this arena.

You say this is an isolated event? Not so - November 29, 2007, Stephen Boissoin [an Alberta Christian/activist] and The Concerned Christian Coalition Inc. were found guilty of offending the public for publicly proclaiming the biblical addresses of several anti-homosexual passages.

COMPLICITY OF UK:

Two items -
1. Ministers are planning to implant "machine-readable" microchips under the skin of thousands of offenders as part of an expansion of the electronic tagging scheme that would create more space in British jails.

Amid concerns about the security of existing tagging systems and prison overcrowding, the Ministry of Justice is investigating the use of satellite and radio-wave technology to monitor criminals.

But, instead of being contained in bracelets worn around the ankle, the tiny chips would be surgically inserted under the skin of offenders in the community, to help enforce home curfews. The radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, as long as two grains of rice, are able to carry scanable personal information about individuals, including their identities, address and offending record. [Independent (UK); HT: Black Kettle]
I know, I know! I'm on record as pooh-poohing this fear; but I've changed my mind now that it is becoming a reality in the UK and planned here in at least on of the Colonies. Besides, the import of this post rests not in any one item but rather the collective and synergistic evidence.
2. When the Bishop of Rochester, Michael Nazir-Ali, wrote the other day that in some of Britain’s Muslim communities there were now no-go areas, the great and the not-so-good rose as one to denounce him for talking nonsense. From William Hague to Hazel Blears, people said they simply didn’t recognise what on earth he was talking about. There were no no-go areas, they cried. All a figment of the Bishop’s over-active imagination, apparently. ... Sigh.

The Sunday Telegraph, which ran an opinion poll on the subject, also reported the following:
Church leaders in communities with large concentrations of Muslims said that Christians were being targeted. An east London vicar who had delivered Christmas leaflets in his parish said he was told to stay away from ‘Muslim areas’. He said: ‘Despite this being a mixed area, where Muslims make up only about 15 per cent of the population, I was told that the leaflets were offensive and could make people angry.’Another churchman said his path had been blocked by Muslim youths as he drove through a district of Oldham, Lancashire, last year. ‘They wanted to know why I was coming into “their” area,’ he said.
The end of Western Civilization will require the almost simultaneous end of its two
centuries old allies and historical greats, the UK and the USA. Continental Europe is already toast as a pillar of Western thought and practice.

MIDDLE EAST:

Three contributions -
1. The Palestinian “right of return” entered the lexicon of American policymakers in December 2006, when the Iraq Study Group Report urged the U.S. government to support Israel-Palestinian negotiations that addresses what it termed a “key final status issue.” ...

A year later, White House deputy press secretary Dana Perino adopted the term, though without much notice. Out of seemingly nowhere, she informed journalists at a press briefing on November 28, 2007 that “The right of return issue is a part of the road map and it's going to be one of the issues that the Israelis and the Palestinians have to talk about during … negotiations.”

Indeed, on schedule, “right of return” emerged as a motif before and during George W. Bush’s recent trip to Israel and the Palestinian Authority, when he mentioned it three time ... [Front Page Magazine]
Even though the Israel in Israel since 1948 is not the true Israel of the Hebrew bible or its prophesies, that Israel is indeed the secular image of the biblical Israel and that alone should cause us to be her long-suffering ally.
2. Coinciding with Bush's trip, the Bush administration in Washington notified Congress on Monday that it will offer Saudi Arabia the chance to buy sophisticated Joint Direct Attack Munitions — or "smart bomb" — technology and related equipment, the State Department said. [AFP]
Any one recall the Mujahideen and the military equip the USA provided them to fight the Soviets with? Does the word Afghanistan mean anything to you? In a future conflict these weapons can be used against Israel just as easily as Iran ... which is Islamic, which is Jewish?
3. Israel and the Palestinians opened on Monday their most serious peace talks in seven years despite differences over what each side aims to achieve. [Reuters]
Anyone remember Paul's words regarding the Last Days?
"Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober."

You say the USA wouldn't stand for it! Remember Iran under the Shah before Iran, and Iraq before Desert Storm? Remember the US Embassy crisis in Tehran? Come on, wake up!

You may think this is an overreaction to events common to our age and fallen culture ... okay! But remember, these are items occurring in only the past 24 hours on one blogger's news feeds. Hardly insignificant ... multiply these by the hundreds of feeds of the past 365 days, as compared to 365 day period say 50 years ago!

PROPHETIC VOICE: Precursor to antichrist fulfillment!

From time to time we're reminded of how easy it will be for the Antichrist to rise up before the eyes of an ignorant and self-absorbed world. This quote by a European caught my eye as typical ...
Torsten Stein, a European legal expert at Saarland University, warns that one day EU citizens will become aware "that, long after the end of absolute rulers, a new authority has established itself that once again claims the authority to decide what is good and what is bad for subjects." Undeterred by such doubts, officials in Brussels continue to perfect a system of total control.
It's prophecy folks, we can't stop the providential but isn't it a little embarrassing that it might happen on our watch?

ACHTUNG: Christians, give heed to the EU!

Three links from The Brussels Journal ...

Why liberals love the EU model ...

Liberal politicians, like Hillary Clinton, envy Western Europe for its welfare state. They tell U.S. voters that a European-style welfare state is needed to help the poor. In reality the motives of liberal politicians are not altruistic, but egotistical.

Welfare makes people dependent on the state. It is not a coincidence that liberalism and secularism are almost synonyms. Liberals want to replace God by the state.
In other words total fascist control ... different name, different face, but the same freedom eating state politik.

Why Christians and conservatives should fear the EU model ...
Years ago, 180 sisters of the Catholic order of the Sisters of the Divine Savior were the pulse of the city [of Mannheim, Germany]. Today, eight remain. Every weekend, roughly 150 Roman Catholics attend mass at the Liebfrauen Church, while up to 3,000 Muslims throng the Yavuz-Sultan-Selim mosque. Since the mosque was opened in 1995, Muslim shops and youth centers have become a magnet for the Muslim community.

Mannheim is not unique. Across Europe, the Continent's fastest-growing religion is establishing its public presence after decades in basements and courtyards, changing not only the architectural look of cities, but also their social fabrics. […]

And now, the third generation is building domed mosques with minarets. Only a handful existed 10 years ago, but today 159 mosques dot Germany today, with 184 under construction, […].
In other words: the old saw "as Europe goes, so goes the US" is not a joke.

Why Americans should fear the ethics of the EU ...
The European Union’s democratic deficit is notorious. [...] On top of all this, consider last week’s launch of the so-called Intergovernmental Conference to hash out the details of a “Reform Treaty” based on the agreement leaders reached at a summit in June.

It’s pretty much the same as the Constitutional Treaty that French and Dutch voters rejected two years ago. [...] The Reform Treaty is nothing but the old draft in a new guise to avoid another round of referendums. And as a result, the EU’s democratic deficit is not narrowing but widening.
In other words: like Hitler's Germany, Mussolini's Italy, and Hirohito's Japan ... lie like hell, just win!

ANTI-SEMITISM: A Sin-disease With No Rational Whatsoever!

After all the senseless anti-semitic evil Europe has seen in the past three or four centuries, I'm dumbfounded that it apparently continues relatively unabated. FoxNews reports ...
The number of anti-Semitic incidents in Britain increased by 34 percent last year, according to records collected by the Community Security Trust, a charity that monitors antisemitism in Britain and is regularly cited in government reports for being more comprehensive than police data.

That was the biggest annual increase since 1984, when the charity began collecting figures. Based on current projections, the number of incidents this year is on track to equal last year's.
That there might be one act of antisemitism in a nation of 60 million is to be statistically understood; but frequent acts in a "civil" society is unthinkable and inexcusable.
According to a poll in the London Times in December 2005, 37 percent of Britain's 2 million Muslims agreed that all 268,000 members of the Jewish community were legitimate targets because of Israel's policies.
No question the seed of Isaac and the seed of Ismael have a history; but ask yourself what you would think if in a poll by the London Times 37 percent of Britain's 268,000 Jews agreed that all 2 million Muslims "were legitimate targets because of Islam's policies"? Or even 15%?

There would be an outcry
only exceeded in history by a volcanic eruption of Krakatoa's magnitude.
"Bigots try to make all Jews responsible for the actions of the only democratically elected government in the Middle East," John Mann, a member of Parliament, told FOXNews.com.

"Anti-Israeli sentiment does go over the line to Antisemitism," said Mann, who chaired a bipartisan committee that studied antisemitism in Britain.

Israel-bashing has been fueled in Britain by militant left-wing trade unionists, academics and some members of the British press who regard Israel as an apartheid state determined to eliminate the Palestinians.
The names have changed but the faces and the worldviews are the same!
