The CRIB's periodically fugacious ...
- Russell D. Moore at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary leads off his pro-life commentary with this ...
Ross Douthat heroically engages the attempt to blame the meltdown of the Republican Party on pro-lifers.[NYT; Moore to the Point]- CELEB TESTIMONY #1 - Celebrity testimonies give me a pain where the grass won't grow. Here is an entertaining testimony by a well-know celebrity ... and not a single mention of Jesus, sin, confession, forgiveness, or the need for a Savior. [Powerline; h/t Maggie's Farm]
- CELEB TESTIMONY #2 - Jessica Simpson wants to return to her roots ... will her public give her a chance? Based on her behavior and her words, I'm curious just who her father might be? [John 8:48; Christian Post]
- CELEB TESTIMONY #3 - Have you ever wondered about Willie Nelson's faith? Well, wonder no longer! [Moore to the Point]
- The Miracle of Hope ... no not BHO's, Angola's ... no not the country, the prison. Yeh! The one in Louisiana.
We watched the documentary last night and was blessed. I wonder though how long it will be before the ACLU and the other God haters try to shut down the success of this faith-based effort? [Christian Post; buy the DVD at BrooklynTabernacle]- Atheism vs Christianity; especially the latter as it relates to our nation's foundations from the mind of a critical thinker. [Hillsdale; h/t View from 1776]
- Montana is not that far from Oregon, so this is not surprising; what continues to be surprising is the arrogance of man. [FOXNews]
- Words have meaning; without words, there is no meaning; without traditional and historical words, traditions and history lose meaning, without which a nation has no meaning! [Telegraph UK; h/t Black Kettle]
- The Grand Duke of Luxembourg (a Catholic) is opposed to euthanasia (and so is the Vatican); refuses to sign a law permitting the practice. However, the Prime Minister (also a Catholic and leader of the country's "Christian" Socialist Party) endorses killing the unwanted and inconvenient; he is in a position to push legislation that would downgrade the Grand Duke's legislative role. Three cheers for murder! Yahoo! [Times Online; h/t Cranmer]

OBAMA: It's not his place of birth that matters!
Does Barack Obama have Kenyan citizenship? | Fact Check (You must read down)
Fight the Smears: The Truth About Barack’s Birth Certificate | Fight the Smears (You must read down)
HT - 'Fight the Smears' Website Admits Obama was Kenyan Citizen: Where's the MSM? | NewsBustersIt's not his place of birth or feelings which matter; it's the precedent under contemporary interpretation of the U. S. Constitution that matters! (see the document)
With many flaky justices still remaining on SCOTUS, it's just too important to let this slip simply because the Dems and Obama think it's a minor issue and unfair!
If Obama achieves the White House (and he might), little short of impeachment will remove him. And we all know what that looks like!

WORLDVIEW: How disappointment and expectations play a role in the development of our worldviews!
My wife and I were discussing the various worldviews of our six children, six very different views. It occurred to us our one and only college graduate had developed the most liberal worldview (college will change your kids, count on it); but a peace filled my mind and heart, for God's word promises a certain outcome.Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6I told my wife it seemed to me our worldviews were honed on disappointment; we should all understand by now that disappointment results from unfulfilled expectation. The peace comes from the certainty of God's promises ... no disappointment there!
For believers, any and all world-based expectation will breed disappointment, resulting in life-changing experience. I know! That is how my worldview has come to be.

SENATE PRAYER: Turning Corner On a Dead-End Street
A seminal event took place in the US Senate on 12 July 2007 ...Many will rejoice at the news, in herd-like knee-jerk reaction, accompanied by a cacophony of syco-fantastic and short-sighted babbling.A Hindu clergyman made history yesterday by offering the Senate's morning prayer
...
Rajan Zed, director of interfaith relations at a Hindu temple in Reno, Nev., gave the prayer that opens each day's Senate session.Zed, the first Hindu to offer the Senate prayer, began: "We meditate on the transcendental glory of the Deity Supreme, who is inside the heart of the Earth, inside the life of the sky and inside the soul of the heaven. May He stimulate and illuminate our minds."Well, that just about covers it all ... kinda tickles the ears, doesn't it?Zed, who was born in India, was invited by Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) He defended the choice and linked it to the war debate. "If people have any misunderstanding about Indians and Hindus," Reid said, "all they have to do is think of Gandhi," a man "who gave his life for peace."Harry, Zed's prayer has more insight than that kind of political emptiness.
This, dear friends, is one more brick in the growing pile of bricks which will one day be used by anti-Christians to break every pillar of support for Senate Prayer, etc.
