PALIN: Blame Sarah in 2013!

Palin 2012Assuming Sarah Palin can be the 2012 success we think she can be (see comments; h/t Ed Driscoll), the following should give the Democrats and the Robamatons some comfort ...
The United States can expect a terrorist attack using nuclear or more likely biological weapons before 2013, reports a bipartisan commission in a study being briefed Tuesday to Vice President-elect Joe Biden. [Yahoo! News]
Because, if we allow for a serious Robamaton screwup in preventing such an attack, the BHO administration will have Sarah to blame in 2013, guaranteeing an unbroken record for blaming others and job security for some aging journalists.

PALIN'S CONNECTEDNESS: That intrinsic our MSM, politicians and bureaucrats so readily forget!

A gentle and insightful article caught my attention this morning; it prompted me to think about life and its meaning.
Small towns have been in the news lately. The past election featured them often. Barack Obama commented on the bitterness of those who cling to guns and religion. Sarah Palin and the McCain campaign celebrated small town virtues to contrast with “big city elitism” of the Democrats. [First Things]
Most, who really care about such things, realize in the grand scheme of things "the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning" (Isaiah 29:14) matter little.

Rural AmericaAny rational, unbiased historian realizes the panoply of man's history does not well recognize the intellectual, the writer, or the orator (Ecclesiastes 12:11-12) ... manifold generations have brought forward few of these.

It's as if an unseen law scrubs our history of their memory; as if that law says, "If you (i.e., mankind) won't acknowledge my work in your world, all memory of you will perish from it."

History's heroes surprise the intellectual, the author, and the orator (as well as the politician and bureaucrat); yet they don't or won't proclaim the law, to do so would make the foundations of their choosing tremble, so they stumble over it!

Only those who seem to somehow discern the existence of this royal law (James 2:8), understand it, accept it and defer to it.

These have learned humility before that law for ...
  1. they understand its most comic moments shame the accumulated wisdom of the world's wise men
  2. they have relaxed their "can do" will, and stand in slack mouthed awe at the presence of the law's greatest weakness, and
  3. they see how it accommodates the unwanted, the unwashed, the unprotected, and the unrich ... bringing humiliation those who boast in their possessions.
Rather than time irradicating the law or the memory of it, time has exalted and commemorated it to the lasting chagrine of those who boast in the things of this world.

I moan when the MSM and the liberal left wax on about the genius, the education, the charisma, the experience of Obama and his cabinet designees; though I admit there are a few bright lights on the left.

When they use these descriptors on Obama and his cabinet picks, they are denigrating the rest of us ... especially the lame-duck administration. The establishment boasts endlessly about an existential and materialistic world.

The kneejerk reaction of the MSM and our political elites is not introspection but frontal assault: those who suggested they were elitists and snobby were attacked; those who pointed to the existence of a vast "fly over" land found their communities denigrated, their neighbors mocked, and their hobbies ridiculed.

At few points did those who hold social or cultural power, position, or privilege acknowledge their critics' roles in our common society and culture ... rather, they were treated as lepers, were disdained, and were summarily dismissed.
One cannot help but to be connected to those around you in a small town. Many of them are related to you by blood. They are kin. Folks can rattle off relations and branches of the family tree. As an outsider, this can be quite intimidating.

But there is a virtue in living in the midst of such family ties that is hard to describe. It involves living in such a way that you, as a person, are not an individual. You are not a solitary center of decision-making. Rather, you exist in a web of tangled claims. You are a point at which many lives intersect. You are at the same time a son or daughter, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter.

Mistake '08 clearly revealed the extent to which the educated, the powerful, and the articulate of this great nation have fooled themselves and stumbled from under the intrinsic protection of the unseen law.
Such connectedness often produces a reflexive attitude of caring that strikes a newcomer as strange. One does not hesitate to visit, be with, console, or give to those around you. The web of relatedness surfaces at times of loss and significance and stress. Often there are no concrete actions that express this attitude other than visiting.
In case you don't see it, connectedness equals community and vice versa.

This solves the mystery which surrounds the public's fascination with Sarah Palin ... she, her family, her friends, and her neighbors get it!

When she spoke of "real Americans," she wasn't disparaging the rest of America, she was speaking to her audience, the audience who knows her because of common (root of community), about tradition, culture, and connectedness.
It is this sort of connectedness to place and people and the past that that makes small towns different. It is not an easy set of slogans that can be trumpeted by a political party or captured in a sound bite. It is the shape of the small town itself which has embedded itself in its people. That shape takes the form of a web that connects that person to a multitude of places and people and past experience. That web becomes the stuff of that person; it is his identity.

Such a way of being a person is slowly being worn away by the storm surge of generic commercial culture. The children feel less a part of the small town than their parents, who are less connected than their parents. It is an inevitable process. Yet small towns are still here, struggling, battling tough economic realities but not extinct. Their shared past is still felt and passed on. The stories are told. The visiting still goes on. The churches and groceries and service stations and post offices still function as gathering places. The connections are still being made.

This generation and the previous generation are too quick to move the boundaries, to bend or destroy fences, and to build roads without signage or shoulders.

Unfortunately, over half of America's citizenry comes from or are influenced by these two generations; it is to their ultimate demise that they are unaware of connectedness and its corollary - community.

McCAIN-PALIN: Give me a break John!

I'm sorry but I think John McCain is full of piffle!

Yesterday I watched Greta's at home interview (video here) with Sarah Palin and then Jay Leno's interview of John McCain on his Tonight Show ... when all was said and done, I thought there was class and low class!

Seems to me the Maverick was more like a trained circus pony and the "Diva" from Wasilla was the beautiful lady on the Wire.

The Senator from Arizona was more like a Washington insider than I have ever seen him, more interested in getting a laugh than defending his running mate.

The Governor from Alaska, on the other hand, was staunch in her defense of the Senator and was gracious in her complimenting of him.

The fact that he did not chastise those responsible for the false and vicious back-bitting and petty rumor mongering was enough for me to regret my vote for him; his failure to categorically deny the validity of the criticisms left me speechless!

AAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

PALIN: Where the hell is McCain?

Though I have no evidence to prove that Sarah Palin is not guilty of all her unnamed critics say of her, other than her own denials and Rush Limbaugh's assertion that it's all lies, my gut tells me ...
  1. either someone in the Obama camp paid someone in the McCain camp to spread the rumors
  2. or it's a political hit job by those (perhaps in both parties) who feel threatened by a gifted female conservative
  3. or she's being set up by bitter McCain or even Obama loyalists
  4. or she is who I think she is ... Sarah Palin of Alaska, currently Governor of the State.

My questions are for John McCain:
  1. Where the hell are you?
  2. Why haven't you come to her defense?
  3. Why haven't you put the culprits in their place?
  4. Had you been elected, are these people those who would have formed your administration?
  5. Tell me why I shouldn't feel my vote and support were wasted?
Your silence, sir, is deafening!

POLITICS: Why there are no normal elected officials?

After witnessing the treatment of Sarah Palin by the MSM and the country's leftists it's no wonder our government is so screwed up ... why would a normal person run for public office!

Network coverage of Palin has moved beyond criticism to outright ridicule. ... When have comic impressions of a political figure ever qualified as hard news?

CMI reviewed network news coverage of Palin for the two weeks beginning September 29 and ending October 12, the period before and after the October 2 vice-presidential debate. We found that ABC, NBC and CBS have been stridently critical of Palin. Before the debate, the networks characterized her as a dunce whose shortcomings were dividing the GOP. After Palin laid to rest concerns about her competence by performing well in the debate, the network narrative changed: Palin became a demon, victimizing Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama with unfair criticism

P. DIDDY: Pounds Robamatons!

A video full of surprise ... a black icon who rattles the black-cage.

UPDATE: Yo, as one commenter at Maggie's Farm observed:
"Wow, what a bunch of square white folk on Maggie's Farm! Diddy is the one being retorted, as in P. Diddy. The man behind this and many other hilarious, impassioned and insightful pro-McPalin videos is Zo. From his youtube profile:

Let's make it a point to visit this Zo's site often.

ELECTION: Republican base needs to decide for itself!

Republicans would be wise to pay more attention to the people, and less to the experts. [Stickin' With the Hockey Mom | American Spectator]
Hockey MomWith that Robert Stacy McCain concluded his reminder to the Republican Party that it is the voter and not the expert that wins or loses elections.

Possibly the author is more right than he might realize ... elections are never about popularity, they are about issues and only a party's base knows the real issues.

Those issues cross over party line, race, ethnic heritage, alma mater, education level, economics, and community organizations. I give you Reagan Democrats and the Pennsylvania Hockey Moms in the linked article.

What people do when they are turned-on rather than turned-off always surprises the experts.

PALIN: Alaskan's angry politics brings death to lover of Huff Post writer!

Carol Anne Burger || "roommate - and former partner"

The Huffington Post's OffTheBus
reports it is "deeply saddened" that Sarah Palin's estrogenic intolerance and truth-baiting politics are responsible for the death of one of their writers.
The circumstances of [Carol Anne Burger's] death remain unclear; police believe she may have taken her own life after learning that her roommate - and former partner - had been found dead. [OTB]
Arriana suggested Carol had reached her wits end following Sarah Palin's recent campaign rallies in Florida ... Carol had said, "I don't know a single person who invited her to come to Florida; what right has she to come without an invitation?"

Huffington was unavailable for comment, but, in a CRIB exclusive, an unnamed source, of unknown gender, close to the unidentified laptop said "Carol Anne" was distraught over Palin's authentic feminism and charismatic persona.

She had been overheard lamenting her four years of training under the Dean of Women's Studies at her alma mater: "four years with that nag just to learn real women live in Alaska?"

Another unnamed CRIB source, with access to discarded HuffPost materials left unattended in round files after 10 PM, says it was common knowledge in the paneled hallways of HPHQ that Ms. Burger's significant other had admitted to Carol that "Todd is a hottie."
Their situation really was a bad one, friends said, but for financial reasons Burger and Kalish had continued to share the house they'd bought together in 2000.

Burger, who on Oct. 7 was tapped to cover the election for the Web site, The Huffington Post, still sometimes felt sad and isolated. Kalish, whom Burger had married in Massachusetts in 2005, had met another woman.
[PBP]
Some have suggested the "other woman" had the user name of "SP from Wallisa" ... I think they need to get a life.

The Palm Beach Post said ...
Burger killed her former lover by stabbing her 222 times with a Phillips-head screwdriver and then took pains to hide her crime, police said Wednesday.
An inside source at the Boynton Beach Bureau of Investigation said, "This is clearly the result of PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) and rage brought on by excessive importation of Alaska's "Deadliest Catch. As you must know, Floridians have been Maine lobster and crab consumers for centuries."

Rumors have a life size wall poster of Sarah Palin with a Phillips-head screwdriver stuck in the left eye in Burger's home office (this has not been confirmed by our on the scene CRIB associate).
Jessica Kalish, who shared a house with Burger despite breaking up with her more than a year ago, was found last Thursday stuffed in the backseat of her gun-metal BMW sedan, abandoned behind a medical office at 2300 S. Congress Avenue.

Her blood was splashed around the rear end and undercarriage of the car, as if her killer had tried to load her into the trunk. The driver-side window was shattered.

Examining the body, detectives absorbed what had been done to her. Stab wounds were clustered around the back of her head and stitched across her back and arms and face. Most were between an inch and an inch-and-a-half deep. A blow to Kalish's neck probably killed her, investigators determined.
Rush Limbaugh said in a phone interview early this morning, "McCain could lose Florida if he doesn't corral the diva."

Rush is considering moving back to NYC if the wave of Palin rage doesn't subside in Southern Florida. "Property values in my really, really, really wealthy-for-now subdivision," Rush said, "have really tanked since John introduced Palin."

PALIN: And so soon it begins ... !

The MSM and the left begin their destruction of the thing they fear most, a 2012 run for the White House by Sarah Palin. As I mentioned yesterday - "it's a shame Sarah Palin is not at the head of the ticket [now]" I'll support her in 2012, unless "the MSM and the federal super majority in DC ... fix it so she can't" run.

Even the foreign press cites "unnamed campaign insiders" and "aides close to both candidates" and "a senior Republican" and "four Republicans close to Ms Palin" and "a Palin associate" and "reports" and "advisers to Senator McCain" and "McCain sources," ... eight common unnamed sources in a single article and not one named source, NOT ONE! These are all journo-speak for "I don't have a source, but I trust my rumor mongers."

UPDATE: The fix is in, and proof of it is here. [26 Oct.'08; 12:57 PM]

PALIN: An open letter of apology from a fellow American!

Dear Sarah -

Over the past few weeks, my heart has been repeatedly broken for you and your family as I've witnessed the most caustic, imbalanced, ill-tempered, unreasonable, biased, unjustifiable, hypo-vitriolic, and satanic personal attacks to have ever been foisted on a public figure in my lifetime, and perhaps in the history of this country.

Miss Personality 2008On behalf of roughly half of the adult American population, I apologize for the treatment you and your family have endured from the other half of our adult population; most significantly from our Main Stream Media (MSM), but also from Europeans, the democrats, the entertainment industry, the far left, feminists, and a group I can only describe as a mass of secular and ignorant.

Their irrational portrayals, stereotypical characterizations (or rather mischaracterizations), duplicitous fabrications, immoral labeling, insensitive slurs, and carnal propaganda must hurt you all during your precious family times.

For all of this, to the limits of my freedom to do so, I apologize. Shame on us all.

Since my elder sister had the pleasure of meeting you and your family in passing, and because she said you all are exactly what you seem to be, I know you have the grace and spirit to forgive and move on. God bless you and the rest of the Palin clan ... especially God's special gift, Trig.

MCCAIN: My horse shot himself before he broke his leg!

Prior to Sarah Palin joining the McCain ticket I, along with Limbaugh and Hannity, had no horse in this race.

Since then I have been hoping and hoping and hoping my earlier take on McCain was wrong! D__n it! I was right!

Today at a rally, somewhere in the continental 48, I heard my candidate's running mate explaining to the crowd that "Senator Obama is really a good man." He was booed by his own people.

That one is not a really good man!

Folks you best get used to waking up each morning with the certain knowledge that the closet socialist-leftist, Barack Hussein Obama, is in the Oval Office.

THIS COUNTRY IS IN A WORLD OF TROUBLE.

MADONNA: Guess what?

Palin wouldn't want to go to your show!
During the U.S. kickoff of her "Sticky and Sweet" tour at the Meadowlands in New Jersey on Saturday night, she shouted: "Sarah Palin can't come to my party. Sarah Palin can't come to my show. It's nothing personal," according to the New York Post's Page Six gossip column.
Surprise, the world doesn't begin and end with you!
Do not answer a fool according to her folly, Or you will also be like her.

AYERS CONNECTION: You are known by the company you keep!

[Courtesy of - The Real Barrack Obama]

The Apostle Paul warned, "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company corrupts good morals.'" (1 Corinthians 15:33)

Or as "five feet of fury" says, There's nothing wrong with "guilt by association" if the person you're associating with is guilty of something... The McCain campaign needs to spin the Ayers connection much better."
It's about the fact that Ayers went from domestic terrorist to "respected community leader", to the point where Ayers was throwing well attended fundraisers for Obama, and they sat on boards together. [fff]
The 60s have spawned a lot of stuff but the Ayers-Dohrn-Obama connection may well be one of the most pernicious and dangerous!
... that means Obama isn't a decent, intelligent person. Period. He's just another craven, arrogant, Chicago style politician. [fff]
How can anyone say that! We can because Obama is guilty by association! No amount of spin, no amount of condemnation, no amount of denial is going to eradicate the fact that he associated with know domestic terrorists and leftist, anti-American idealists.

Not once but on numerous occasions; not just one of the above but numerous individuals.
What does it tell you about Obama and his policies and his worldview that people like Ayers and his ilk are obviously going to vote for the guy? [fff]
It tells us they know something the American people need to know! Regardless of whether McCain-Palin achieve the White House, the American people have a right to know the truth about a possible wolf in sheep's clothing.

Critics of the McCain-Palin camp (for making this an issue) demand evidence; they say if it's true why isn't the MSM all over this? The easy answer goes without saying. But ...
No evidence? Well, Stanley Kurtz and Steve Diamond, two of the only journalists actually interested enough to look into the relationship, would beg to differ about the extent of Obama’s relationship with Ayers ... [David Thompson]
Bottom-line, it doesn't matter whose feelings or sensibilities are tweaked; what matters is informing the American people regardless of where the votes fall.

And below that bottom-line is the question of Obama's twenty year association with the very wrong Rev. Wright ... he's fair game.

Why McCain waited for a hail-Mary moment is a mystery to all.

David Thompson wonders ...
... what the precise level of ostracism should be for those, like Ayers, who show no contrition for past sins. But I find it remarkable that so little stigma is apparent. There is a double standard here, whereby leftwing extremism, even of the most contemptible kind, is excused as some youthful exuberance or badge of credibility.
But can the same be said for rightwing extremism? Say a Todd Palin-David Duke connection from twenty years ago? Would the press excuse that?

PALIN: A few well placed notes do not make music!

Bird Dog at Maggie's Farm sure sums up a lot of our feelings (link above) ... especially his link to Jungle Trader's link to Michael Goodwin's thoughts at the New York Daily News.
"Some day, we will look back with disgust at the abuse Palin has taken and wonder how it could happen in this great nation, circa 2008."
My short answer is that far too many Americans are fundamentally selfish, self-centered, ego-centrists.

DEBATE: Three ladies were big winners last night!

There were three winners in last night's debate: Lady Liberty, Gwen Ifill, and Sarah Palin! Not all agree, however.

America is a winner because her people are being remembered. Ifill is a winner because she was professional to a fault ... kudos to her! And Palin, well I'll let Noonan speak for me!

Rebecca Bynum, at NER, is on the side of Biden ...

I thought Palin was much too rehearsed ... she shaded the truth ... without really understanding the reality of the situation ... .

This was especially blatant concerning her characterization of Biden's position on Iraq which has been basically consistent. ... Bad marks there. ... I do remember his basic assessment was much more realistic than the rosey picture we got from the administration.

Moreover, Joe Biden ... actually succeeded in making himself seem more human, especially when he almost broke down referring to a child who had died. This in turn, made Palin's strategy of sticking to policy talking points seem shallow.

Palin made good points on energy policy, but outside that issue, she was a bit out of her depth. [...]

Biden said an Obama adminstration would "end the war in Iraq." If only I could believe him. [...]

Palin exceeded expectations, but I'm afraid when all is said and done, the debate went to Biden.
Another NER contributor, Hugh Fitzgerald, was favorable to Palin but recognizes reality for what it is ...
[...] One of them was pretty.

This part of the pick hardly matters. The choice is between McCain ... and Obama .... And there is also the question of effectiveness. Who has a record that suggests he will be better able to persuade or force the recalcitrant in Congress -... to do what he thinks, or claims, must be done? This matters, for the consequences of both global warming, and the world-wide Jihad -- like time and tide -- wait for no man.
Bynum, to her credit, recognizes this in a comment to the latter's post ...
Yes indeed, it is McCain who will be able to "reach across the aisle in a bi-partisan way" and enact...comprehensive immigration reform. Neither one will get us out of Iraq and either one is likely to get us further bogged down in Afghanistan.

We're doomed, doomed.
I don't share that level of pessimism.

MCCAIN-PALIN: What is this election all about?

Someone please tell me what the Democrats/Leftists/Liberals think this election is all about? If the truth be known about every candidate for office we'd not have any candidates by this standard!

The ad asks - "Do we really want a vice president who sanctions such savagery?"

On the other hand, do we want a VP who plagiarizes, lies, and refuses to admit his party's complicity in the current economic debacle?

Of course not, but that is apparently what about 50% of Americans believe they want!

PROPHETIC VOICE: Newsweek and Sam Harris gang up on Sarah, reveal end-time roll!

Sam Harris is a self-promoting, nobody atheist who has been blessed by the Peter Principle ... raised up to "his level of incompetence," only his benefactors have no idea he has been!

Writing in what used to be a worthy magazine, Harris declares John McCain's pick for Vice President a figment of imagination, a religious zealot of the first order, someone of such dysfunction that she is not worthy of our time, let alone our support.

So, I ask, why are Newsweek and the soon to be forgotten Sam Harris taking the time to mock her? The answer to that question is found in another Peter principle ...
Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming?

For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."

For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

2 Peter 3:3-10
One of the dangers of keeping Sarah Palin under wraps is that it allows this kind of hyperbolic diatribe to reproduce! (see here also) Where is the danger for Harris' and his crapola, if he knows she won't be allowed to respond?

I can't agree with all of Tim Graham's take on Harris' opinion of Palin because I don't see it in the same light ... with the same worldview!

Harris has a right to his opinion; it's the subtle and quasi-intellectual fear mongering (see cristophobia) which really bothers me (CRIB emphasis). Notice ...
Her relative ignorance is guaranteed on these fronts and most others, not because she was put on the spot, or got nervous, or just happened to miss the newspaper on any given morning. Sarah Palin's ignorance is guaranteed because of how she has spent the past 44 years on earth.

I care even more about the many things Palin thinks she knows but doesn't: like her conviction that the Biblical God consciously directs world events. Needless to say, she shares this belief with millions of Americans -- but we shouldn't be eager to give these people our nuclear codes, either.
Excuse me? Who has Sam spent any quality time with regarding the "the past 44 years" of her life" Seriously, how does he know how she spent the past 44 years?

Then there is this little slip: "her conviction that ... God ... directs world events." Add Harris' own admission "millions of Americans" share "this belief" with poor Sarah!

First, this has been shown and re-shown to have taken out of context. And, second, she never said or even implied anything near to this. But will Harris' hubris allow him to discuss it reasonably and rationally? No! It won't!

And "we" shouldn't? This wee slip of the tongue tells me that he believes he, the Newsweek shakers, and their mover-readers are all of one mind. Such arrogance!

And "these people"? What smug contempt for "millions of Americans"?

Harris and Newsweek are not just mocking Sarah Palin, they've called out, by Harris' own figures, millions of Americans. But they have no fear, not of Sarah's fellow Christians (recent history shows we don't fight back against this crapola) and not of the likes of Sam Harris or the editors of Newsweek (Romans 3:18).

Most reasonable people know intuitively what this means to the intelligentsia. And most public speakers/writers avoid it when speaking to or about any minority group: women, blacks, Jews, Muslims, etc. But not to Christians, especially Christian women.

Harris and Newsweek are both guilty of what they accuse Palin - of ignorance and of spending their lives in the wrong way, without God, and therefore not knowing him or what He has said!
