Watching the latest Islamic terrorist horror in India starts a rolling list in my head that can’t be stopped; Iran, Beirut, USS Cole, Somalia, 9/11, Spain, London. Those are just the big ones, everyday around the world Islamists murder in the name of their politicized religion. They attack women, children, the old and infirm, coreligionists, non-believers, white, brown or yellow, it doesn’t matter. An alarming portion of their fellow Muslims support their grisly agenda, some of them actively, others by dancing in the streets, expressing joy in the deaths of strangers. I hate these bastards.

I find myself increasingly repulsed by Muslim practices and beliefs. Middle Eastern, African, Asian, American, the country of origin makes no difference. Women and children treated as chattel, genital mutilation, child brides, honor killings, culturally accepted pedophilia, the black drapes and head coverings, no rights, no votes, little to non-existent educational opportunities, no voice, no choices, no recourse. Persecution of homosexuals. Imprisonment, stoning and whipping for morality crimes. Lack of free speech. The foul treatment of non-Muslims in Islamic countries. The demented hatred of Jews. Sharia Law. Wahhabism. Madrasas. Blind obedience to Mullahs. Praying towards Mecca - a place on the map few will ever see. Individuality is shut down, originality and freedom of the mind discouraged. Good grief, two young women are murdered in cold blood while talking to a 911 dispatcher and the FBI caves in to Muslim political correctness. What in the hell is happening to this great nation?

The FBI removed all mention of the controversial term “honor killing” from the wanted poster of a double-murder suspect after FOXNews.com ran a story announcing the use of the term.

A few zealots come here to live the good life but want to corrupt the very freedoms that make that life good, and our senior law enforcement agency kowtows to their whines.

According to family members, Said felt he was compelled to kill his daughters because they had disgraced the family by dating non-Muslims and acting too "Western."

The girls’ great aunt, Gail Gartrell, has always called the case an “honor killing.” And for a few days — until last Friday — the FBI publicly agreed.

Look folks, you don't have to be a Harvard graduate or a community organizer to see what is happening here.

If it smells like an honor killing, sounds like an honor killing, looks like an honor killing, and feels like an honor killing then it's not just an everyday murder by some sicko Muslim freak!

We now use the term "hate crime" for all kinds of borderline crapola and the feds won't budge in their use of it ... but a handful of immigrants whine and moan and bar the doors Hannah, we must use ethnic sensitive terms to keep them from burning up downtown or killing their non-Muslim neighbors.

Some Muslims have objected to the term "honor killing" because they say it attaches a religious motive to a crime, which could lead to discrimination against Muslims.

What the????? Of course "it attaches to a religious motive" ... duh! We're talking about two young lives here, not hurt feelings.

Discrimination my great aunt's fanny; it's the boldfaced truth; they deserve to be called out till they renounce the practice and condemn the practitioners.

But first a metaphorical interlude ...

Farmer Jones was content with his life's work: his terraced fields were solid and easily maintained; his dual-source irrigation system was state of the art; his stock fine and deep in DNA; his bio-seed stores unrivaled; and his children and grandchildren legally provided for ... a century at least if the wisdom they were taught ruled their lives.

So how is it that I see America following Europe's lead in to oblivion?

First, Europe's new leaders believe they can correct "mistakes" of the past (Crusades, wars, poverty, inhumanity, etc.) by ignoring almost 1,500 years of Christian influence.

Papal mutterings about this perceived "apostasy" have been increasing in volume for some time now - but what really infuriated the Vatican was the presentation, back in 2003, of the first draft of the ill-fated European constitution.

In its preamble, the authors had indulged themselves in a spot of root-tracing. Europe's debt to ancient Greece and Rome was solemnly acknowledged. So, too, were the achievements of the Enlightenment. About the Christian roots of European civilisation, however, there was nothing.

The implication was obvious: everything between Marcus Aurelius and Voltaire was to be reckoned mere backwardness and superstition. [...]

Today's secular Europe may well pride itself on having arrived at a post-religious state of moral and intellectual superiority - but it is no less Christendom's heir for that.

In the USA it is a popular recreation, and Starbucks' moment, to wax on about our evil and religious past, while revealing a severe case of anti-religious ignorance marinated in an unhealthy canister of secular arrogance; in so doing the secular humanist, not seeing the baby in the dirty water, throws it out.

What they conveniently forget in their snobbery is the existence of such grand institutions as Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, Loyola; the multiple and nationwide hospitals of the Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, Catholics, the benevolent work of the Amish, Mennonites, the Salvation Army, the Knights of Columbus, and the senior care and retirement facilities of manifold others, etc. and etc.

All undeniable foundational and historically relevant religious entities.

Second, Europe's new leaders believe they can get away with the former if they "ring-fence" all religions and politics.

As one group of MEPs protested, in an official letter of complaint to the president of the European Parliament: "The EU is of a secular and neutral nature."

Almost daily, in America, someone (usually a politician but also an entertainer or academician), somewhere stands to condemn all things religious, throwing the baby, the water, and the clean out together.

A good example of this attitude of the left is the fairness doctrine (it's believed by some that this abomination will be reinstated in the event of an Obama victory); this is nothing more than cristophobia in drag.

Third, Europe's new leaders believe there are no absolutes and are willing to institute a broad set of absolutes to stop belief in them.

Pope Benedict asked last year: ‘Is it not surprising that today's Europe, while hoping to be seen as a community of values, more and more seems to contest that universal and absolute values exist?’

Yet he ought to have made it clear that the EU has developed its own universal and absolute articles of faith which are not neutral, but decidedly anti.

If a state seeks to be neutral in the effect of its policies then it requires a greater level of state intervention to ensure that inequalities are negated. [Cranmer]

A refreshing wind in all of this elitist duplicity and stupidity is Benedict XVI's adamant stand against the EU Parliament's efforts to bury their heads in the sand.

Most of our (America's) cultural war has been fought on this battlefield ... sanctity of human life, separation of church and state, Constitutional law and legislating from the bench, capital punishment, free speech, etc.

One cannot be ‘neutral’ in matters of religion - pretending to broker between ‘equal’ faiths and impartial in arbitration between competing worldviews - for that neutrality presupposes a higher level of knowledge and constitutes itself an article of faith. There is no neutrality to be had because neutrality needs as much justification as any other position.

Secular humanism has progressively become more absolutist in its quest to silence conservatives and people of faith by ridiculing the belief in absolutes ... and the irony seems to be lost on them.

Fourth, multiculturalism has been the weapon of choice for Europe and the European Union ... a weapon incapable of aiding in a suicide ... for combating the Third Jihad.

With Wall Street convulsing, and the White House race intensifying, the question "Who lost Europe" is on no one's lips, let alone minds. Indeed, the question begs another: "Is Europe lost?"

The answer to the second question is, "No, not yet." And losing Europe, I would add, is by no means inevitable. But that doesn't mean the continent isn't currently hell-bent to accommodate the dictates of Islamic law, bit by increasingly larger bit. Such a course of accommodation, barring reversal, will only hasten Bernard Lewis' famous prediction that Europe will be Islamic by century's end. [Diana West]

The environmental damage only now is becoming apparent: At least a half million gallons of crude oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico and the marshes, bayous and bays of Louisiana and Texas, according to an analysis of federal data by The Associated Press.

Clearly we must improve the storm security of our off shore drilling industry if we ever hope to sway the public about drilling for oil while alternate technologies are introduced.

Seven weeks before the 2008 presidential election, liberals are warning America that if Barack Obama loses, it is because Americans are racist. ....

That an Obama loss will be due to racism is becoming as normative a liberal belief as "Bush Lied, People Died," a belief that has generated intense rage among many liberals.

The double standard on who is and who is not a racist cannot hide the overwhelming percentage of blacks voting for Obama just because he is black.

The deep emotional connection that nearly every black American has to an Obama victory is difficult for even empathetic non-blacks to measure. A major evangelical pastor told me that even evangelical black pastors who share every conservative value with white evangelical pastors, including pro-life views on abortion, will vote for Obama. They feel their very dignity is on the line.

I remember attending San Jose State College (pre-university days) when Tommie Smith was setting a world record every time he set foot on the track. I recall eating in the campus cafeteria and watching the blacks segregating themselves from the rest of us ... Smith and John Carlos included.

This was during the 60s, when America was trying to right the wrong of white-racism.

I remember being at a Southern Baptist pastors retreat in California about ten years ago, listening to a black pastor and a black youth pastor explain to me and a white friend why they hoped and prayed that we and every other white-American would experience the humiliation and degradation that they felt and had felt.

To our shock they told us they hoped and prayed that this country and its whitey culture would crumble in a heap just so they could see whites go through what their people have gone through.

These were men who were consecrated to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ - the one known as The Truth, The Life, and The Way!

To this day my friend and I remain dumbfounded because of what we heard these two "men of God" reveal to us at that little round table over coffee.

For 40 years, liberals have described the most open and tolerant society on earth as racist and xenophobic. If Barack Obama loses, the results of this liberal depiction of America may become frighteningly apparent.

The vast majority of Americans ... democrat and republican, black and white, Native and Asian, what ever ... know that the vast majority of Americans are nowhere near racist; yet most liberal Americans, especially those in or out of academia, and the MSM do!

Why do liberals believe that if Obama loses it will be due to white racism?

One reason is the liberal elite's contempt for white Americans with less education -- even if they are Democrats.

A second reason is that it is inconceivable to most liberals that an Obama loss -- especially a narrow one -- will be due to Obama's liberal views or inexperience or to admiration for John McCain.

The third reason is that the further left you go, the more insular you get. Americans on the left tend to talk only to one another; study only under left-wing teachers; and read only fellow leftists. That is why it is a shock to so many liberals when a Republican wins a national election -- where do all these Republican voters come from?

... if Obama loses, liberal rage will focus on millions of fellow Americans and on American society.

And it could become a rage the likes of which America has not seen in a long time, if ever. It will first and foremost come from within black America.

A bill passed by the California legislature (now sitting on Governor Schwarzenegger's desk) seeks to designate May 22 as Harvey Milk Day; AB 2567 states ...

"On Harvey Milk Day, exercises remembering the life of Harvey Milk and recognizing his accomplishments as well as the contributions he made to this state" should be conducted; specifically, "all public schools and educational institutions are encouraged to observe ... and conduct suitable commemorative exercises."

That's K-12 "and beyond" [Buzz Lightyear].

Notice that Milk was a San Francisco county supervisor with a "special interest" agenda: why should the entire state school system celebrate the life and work of a San Francisco pervert?

I can understand Cesar Chavez or William Mulholland, at least their lives and works affected the lives and works of all Californians, and those somewhat positively. But Milk's resume has had nothing but a deleterious affect on the people of California.

This kind of legislation is one of very many reasons we left California.

Soon teachers with a Judeo-Christian worldview will be nudged out of the profession and new teachers with a similar worldview will emigrate to other states (one of our daughters), or into private education, depriving the kids of California some of the best in the business.

Race is arguably the biggest issue in this election, and it's one that nobody's talking about.

No one is talking about it because it is not an issue, let alone a big issue.

Although I must admit I encountered an anecdotal example of blue collar racism against the candidate (just yesterday), racism is not an issue in our current election campaign ... the issues are!

Cafferty's suggestion is race-baiting at its slimiest; such a thing implies a Nader voter is a racist, a Paul voter is a racist, and (most revealing) all who voted for Clinton or Edwards in their primaries are racists.

Then the CNN trooper admits it's not racism, it's political worldviews that are at work ... only he can't grasp his man is losing.

The differences between Barack Obama and John McCain couldn't be more well-defined. Obama wants to change Washington. McCain is a part of Washington and a part of the Bush legacy. Yet the polls remain close. Doesn't make sense…unless it's race.

Sorry Jack, it probably doesn't make sense to you because you're simply "out of touch."

The truth is Obama may well regain his lead! But race baiting is one of the many things troubling the public about the media and politics today, and another reason why Palin has turned so many independent and leaner heads.

Or could it be that you don't understand the real basis for the current administration's low approval ratings? Could it be he (as Limbaugh has said many times) is more popular than the polls reveal, and that his apparent unpopularity is just that, only an appearance of unpopularity?

Cristophobia is running rampant among media personalities; but they still think they're filing insightful and well researched news reports.

When I hear leftists and socialists, and the MSM, speak on religious or theological aspects of Sarah Palin's faith, I am reminded of prepubescents questioning adult decisions.

It's like the Louvre hiring a playground chalk artist to make new acquisitions. It's like an air guitarist replacing Aerosmith's lead guitarist. It is flat out embarrassing ... for the critics.

So ridiculous and juvenile are their concerns and questions that authentic believers are rendered speechless.

They are mad! Very mad! Mad at McCain-Palin! Mad at you! Mad at me! Why? Because we embarrassed them during and after the RNC; because they know they are responsible for the incredible and apparently lasting McCain bump. [CNN HT - NB]

I, for one, hope they continue on this cristophobic rant; what they don't know in this case is going to hurt them big time.

Some Pentecostals from Assembly of God also believe in "faith healing" and the "end times" -- a violent upheaval that they believe will deliver Jesus Christ's second coming. [News Busters]

Both faith healing and end times are orthodox teachings of the Christian faith but are presented in such a way as to insinuate red flags for the reader.

Seemingly they were on the prowl up there in Alaska, looking for wild-eyed Christian fundamentalists at the Wasilla Bible Church, but they come up short. Her church and beliefs are very solidly mainstream.

I won't be surprised to soon hear someone suggest Palin's current church is planning an altar for slaughtering sheep in their parking lot; all because a CNN reporter saw a bulletin from five years ago which listed the hymn "Power in the Blood" in the order of service.

What am I thinking? Only church goers will know what a bulletin is or what is meant by "Order of Service."

Each of the world's religions have a language of their own; for the media to think they can learn its grammar and syntax overnight is wilder than a Hopi peyote lodge.

discovered something rather shocking: opposition to homosexuality must itself be genetic.

For as long as I can remember, homosexuals have been explaining why gay people have no choice about their orientation. And it finally dawned on me that their arguments explain why being anti-gay is also not a choice but an innate predisposition beyond our power to restrain. This led me to embrace my convictions and stop trying in vain to repress who I am.

Since millions suffer from this same condition, I’m hopeful that my epiphany will help others accept themselves and their convictions, too.

This is wonderful news ... perhaps we can expect the AMA to ask the Democratic Caucus to front a bill for funding of a massive study? Or maybe MoveOn.org or George Soros will fund a research chair at Harvard or Berkeley or Cornell?

I for one plan on forming several activist organizations: HLP - The Homophobe Liberation Front; U-HIXAC - Union of Homophobes, Islamophobes, Xenophobes, Anti-semites, and Cristophobes; and H-PAC - Homophobic Political Action Committee.

RELATIVISM: Great contribution to the subject at David Thompson!

For those of you who like to keep fresh on your apologetics from a Judeo-Christian/Western point of view, David Thompson has an excellent post of the subject of relativism ... though his reference point is not a defense of the Judeo-Christian worldview but rather from a defense of historical western thought.

For some, it is ideologically intolerable that so called ‘Western ways of knowing’ should be largely preeminent in their effectiveness and rewards. If certain ways of looking at the world tend to produce advantages, both materially and culturally, this must somehow be ‘unfair’ and subject to correction, or at least disdain. Thus we arrive at assertions that, for instance, the scientific method and expectations of evidence should not be “privileged” above other, less reliable modes of thinking.

In common usage, this levelling of knowledge claims reduces analysis to mere opinion or lifestyle choice, and is corrosive to critical thought for fairly obvious reasons. In order to maintain a pretence of ‘fairness’ and non-judgmental equivalence, there are any number of things one cannot allow oneself to think about, at least in certain ways.

Thompson is one of my favorite contemporary thinkers; not all but most of his posts are pleasing to the windmills of my mind! It's worth the trip [here].

Union leaders say implementing the holiday was important for the nearly 700 Muslims, many of them Somalis, who work at the plant that employs a total of 1,200 people.

Did it ever occur to them they're no longer in Somalia?

And what about the Jewish workers, who would like Rash Hashanna or Yom Kippur off?

Oh, that's right, the Somalis threatened to behead all managers and burn the plant down if that's even mentioned.

And where are the politically correct that whined Christmas into "Holiday Season" and Easter into "Spring Break"? And what of the remaining 500 employees? How many Christians and Jews are now being forced to celebrate a pagan holiday?

But then, who really cares?

Today we're warned that blog censors will soon be scouring British Internet sites for offending content. [Telegraph.co.uk; HT: Iain Dale's Diary]

Internet users will be protected from abusive bloggers and malicious Facebook postings under proposals to set up an independent internet watchdog, The Daily Telegraph has learnt.

The body, made up of industry representatives, would be responsible for drawing up guidelines that social networking sites, the blogosphere, website owners and search engines would be expected to follow.

Since the American intelligentsia seem to be in charge of our asylum nowadays, and since they also seem to be animated by European social and political views, we can only assume this kind of thing will arrive on our shores very soon ... if it hasn't already.

ISLAM: Confessions of an Islamophobe!

Col. Bud Day and the John McCain campaign are catching a lot of heat today for a remark attributed to Day and apparently redacted later through a another McCain surrogate.

Well, they (at least their leaders; HT: FrontPage) "have said they're going to kill us"! And, to the best of my recollection, they (Muslims) have not risen up with a united voice and condemned what their leaders "have said."

My worldview is an admixture of what I know to be true and what I believe to be true; and, thanks to definitions provided by Islamophobia Watch, (a decent and, for the most part, fair Muslim apologetics blog) I've discovered I am an Islamophobe!

According to IW an Islamophobe is ...

This definition, from the 1997 document 'Islamophobia: A Challenge For Us All' is widely accepted, including by the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia.
The eight components are:

1) Islam is seen as a monolithic bloc, static and unresponsive to change.
2) Islam is seen as separate and 'other'. It does not have values in common with other cultures, is not affected by them and does not influence them.
3) Islam is seen as inferior to the West. It is seen as barbaric, irrational, primitive and sexist.
4) Islam is seen as violent, aggressive, threatening, supportive of terrorism and engaged in a 'clash of civilisations'.
5) Islam is seen as a political ideology and is used for political or military advantage.
6) Criticisms made of the West by Islam are rejected out of hand.
7) Hostility towards Islam is used to justify discriminatory practices towards Muslims and exclusion of Muslims from mainstream society.
8) Anti-Muslim hostility is seen as natural or normal.

Clearly I am phobic about Islam and Muslims ... with the exception of the second clause in the second sentence of number 2, the first half of number 3, the essence of numbers 6 & 7 ... I am guilty of it all. Other definitions on the page provided little help with this politically incorrect malady.

People whose lives and way of life are threatened tend to be that way. Duh!

IW's post (a reflection of the Miami Herald's report) goes on to catalog several prominent Muslim's reactions to the Day comments; what's missing is any reference to their indignation concerning any of the innumerable atrocities committed daily in the Muslim world (here, here, or here) that have led Day and others to hold this low view of Islam and its Muslim adherents!

I'd even accept a broad-brush generalization to the effect that Islam has a global problem with fanatical teachers, preachers, politicos, and followers ... and many innocent people are suffering horribly in the name of Allah at the hands of vast numbers of Mohammed's followers.

While preoccupied with the War on Terror, America is in danger of going the way of England and Canada; who've allowed power hungry ideologues to co-opt their language, to revise word meanings for political ends, and to take these two bastions of democratic history to the brink of McCarthy-like (even Nazi-like) insanity.

Democracy, for sound reasons, is predicated on the existence of dissenting opinions, discussion, and open debate. The harassment of individuals at their employment, solely on the basis of party affiliation, private or perceived opinion can have absolutely no place in a democracy.

And yet in England, one can lose his employment and/or her membership in an organization for just such reasons and without public outcry.

While in Canada one is hauled before a politically-based, unconstitutional tribunal of multiculturalists to answer for one's speech or opinion.

Let me paraphrase a commenter's take on the UK situation ...

[this has become] a threat to the livelihood of any dissenter to the prevailing, and increasingly stifling political ideology. This has not only created a climate of fear and resentment among the general public, it has helped to establish an anti-intellectual consumer politics, in which ill-conceived, unworkable ideas are presented to the public as pearls of wisdom.

Now consider for a moment the number of words and views we Americans are tacitly "forbidden" from saying or even thinking ...

WORDS
How about "queer" and "homo," or "dike" and "fag"; how about "nigger" and "darkie," or "terrorist" and "zealot"; and how about "chick" or "broad."

VIEWS
How about concepts and ideas that result in being called a "sexist," "misogynist," "xenophobe," "fascist," "racist," "homophobe," "Islamophobe," "insensitive," "fundamentalist," or "intolerant."

It doesn't matter that our words are used in a valid context or that our views are based on fact and/or solid reason ... it just doesn't matter! Yet in the founding of this nation, men wiser than all of us determined that the most unreasonable speech and irrational view had a place in our democratic republic.

Consider also, the multitude of lawsuits by Muslim fanatics who've shackled Homeland Security programs and first-responder personnel due to "racist" and "profiling" claims.

On the other hand, how many of us have turned up our noses when a friend is discovered to be a Communist or a Socialist, or a neighbor to be a white supremacist or member of NAMBLA? How many of us snicker at Fred Phelps and his disgusting Wichita congregation? How many mock Louie Farakan and his legion of best-dressed, black men in America? How many of us want them stopped "by the government" just for their ideas or opinions?

Worse, how many stand silently by while, rightly or wrongly, Americans and/or American groups are vilified by ignorant or unthinking fellow Americans? What is your reaction to jokes about Rush's views or Gore's luke-warming opinions? Those freedoms we cherish so much must be available to all Americans, no matter how offensive they seem on the surface.

Take away one American's freedom and you take away all Americans' freedoms.

Democracy, for sound reasons, is predicated on the existence of dissenting opinions, discussion, and open debate.

Short of an individual's or group's actions, we must support all of America's right to disagree ... openly!
