ANGLICAN ANGST - Part Three

Evidently leaders of the American arm (ECUSA) of the worldwide Anglican Communion are determined to fight the American Revolution and WWII all over again.

I have to watch myself, because some of the political intrigue surrounding Episcopalians today is hilarious; if I'm not careful, I'll forget this is spiritual warfare [Ephesians 6:12] and a deadly serious business.

For example, in an Agape Press report ...
A conservative Anglican theologian says the head clergy in the Episcopal Church USA (ECUSA) are acting more like lawyers than apostolic leaders in their efforts to ease Anglican tensions over the American denomination's consecration of an openly homosexual bishop.
Considering the national debate with our judicial-self, the image of clergy acting like lawyers is gut wrenching!

And this ...
Dr. Kendall Harmon ... Canon Theologian for the Diocese of South Carolina ... says the U.S. bishops are engaging in "the worst kind of schoolyard politics" and contends that their behavior "shows a tremendous lack of understanding of the seriousness of the crisis and of what they've been asked to do."
I can just hear these so-called church leaders in their pinstriped vestments saying, "It's our ball and we get to make the rules." Or, "If you don't like it well, we'll just ... well ... well ... we'll just take our ball and leave." We've all heard that voice ... only we were like, 10 or 12?

I have a great deal of admiration and respect for the conservative voice inside in the ECUSA, they must feel a lot like early members the resistance movement in WWII Europe. My prayer for them is that they keep up the good fight.
