TERRI SCHIAVO - "A question of law?"

From the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ...
"There is no denying the absolute tragedy that has befallen Mrs. Schiavo," the judges of the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit said in a 2-to-1 ruling. "We all have our own family, our own loved ones, and our own children. However, we are called upon to make a collective, objective decision concerning a question of law."
Well, I read no further ... those two statements say it all for me. What, pray tell, has happened to a question of right, of morality, and the sanctity of human life in this land?

Doing what is right, moral, and life honoring (sustaining Terri's life while all legal options are exhausted), is evidently not an option in our legal system.

Let me see #1: if Rahab had told the truth (what Scripture insists we do; God hates liars) and revealed the location of the Hebrew spies [Joshua 2:1-5; Matthew 1:5], perhaps Boaz would not have been born, to marry Ruth, to beget Obed, so that Obed could beget Jesse, who we all know is the father of David the King of Israel and a type of Christ, and the genealogy of the Lord would have been changed forever.
Let me see #2: if Esther had followed royal protocol (something Scripture admonishes us to do), and refused to put her life on the line by entering the king's court uninvited, perhaps Ishmael's thorn in the side (Isaac's seed) would not be a problem today ... and Hitler would not have risen to power. And of course there would not have been a Jewish seed out of Judah in the genealogy of Christ either [Esther 4:9-14]. And perhaps an Jewish-American judge or two would not be a thorn in the side of Uncle Sam either.

Let me see #3: if Tamar had not decided to commit adultry and incest for the sake of honor where would we all be? [Genesis 38; Matthew 1:3]
Of course the Lord is never surprised by the workings of man; He would have continued to move forward according to His divine will. BUT I WONDER, how would it have turned out for the judge's "own"? Thank God Rahab decided to disobey God and do the right thing! And thank God Esther decided to disobey royal law and follow God's Royal Law [James 2:8]! And thank God Tamar set aside her self respect in the interest of righting a horrific cultural wrong and putting a smug self-righteous Judah in his place.
