ENGAGING CULTURE - The wrong way!

For as long as I've been a believer I've heard my brethren and sisthern lament the entertainment industry's deafness and blindness to family values ... or rather their trashing of family values. Now arrives on the scene a TV show (Revelations) that apparently does no harm to family values but instead fictionalizes aspects of the end-times. Good grief, considering the reaction of some, you'd think their first-born had been taken and sacrificed to Moloch.

One consistent complaint has been the fear of damage to the faith of our kids. Based on raising six children, I'd say more damage is done to our kids' faith, biblically speaking, in three hours of Saturday cartoons than any non-prime time, six-hour series from NBC could hope to do. And as their spokesmen have said, over and over, "There is the off button."

What message does it send to say, "You don't provide any exciting entertainment programming people with a Judeo-Christian world-view can watch!" ... and then when they do, to complain that it's not sufficiently biblical? It's fiction for crying out loud!
