ON DARFUR, LET ME ...

...say thank you Condoleezza Rice -

the United States Secretary of State, told Sudan's president yesterday that his government had a "credibility problem" on the issue of Darfur, and she wanted to see "actions not words".

See the State's transcripts of her comments at SUDAN: The Passion of the Present.

And I have to admire Andrea Mitchell of NBC, traveling with the secretary. Mitchell was dragged physically from an audience with the President [sic] of Sudan after violating protocol by asking the dictator embarrassing questions. At least she doesn't discriminate when it comes to the head men.

"It is our job to ask," she said later. "They can always say `no comment' ... but to drag a reporter out just for asking is inexcusable behavior."
