IN KATRINA'S WAKE ...

... there's one thing not many are seeking for the survivors - prayer.

LORD, hear our prayer, harken unto the cry of Your people, lean low and close O our God and sovereign King. The natural system You have given us has dealt this nation a mighty blow, its people are reeling from its impact, her knees are near to buckling O LORD. We do not pray for the looters and those whose feet hurry to do evil; we pray for the innocent, the little ones, the infirm, the elderly, and the disabled.

And LORD we lift up especially to You those who will be laboring harder than they now imagine trying to put the Lady's pieces back together again. Special graces and mercies to them oh sweet Son of David!

Jehovah Jireh You see and know and will provide for the righteous, but hear this on behalf of our countrymen, we admit we've turned from following You and that we covet our sinful ways, the ways of the world ... forgive us? Won't You LORD?
Heal our broken and bruised land; bind her up, lift her up, and strengthen her?

In the name that is above all names, the name by which every man must be saved, the name at which every knee will bow to and tongue will confess, the man Jesus ... or God and Lord!
