WE DINE AT THE LORD'S TABLE ...

... in the midst of our enemies, then take from the garbage can of the world to garnish the feast set before us! Ted Baehr has written in WorldNetDaily about ...
... a study done by MarketCast supposedly showing that conservative, red state, fundamentalist Christians go to more violent, R-rated films than do liberals.
One would hope they polled their subjects on movies with "redemptive" qualities ...
... but instead found that they were talking about movies like "Kill Bill" and "American Pie," which are abhorrent.
Baehr writes ...
The nature of this study can be interpreted in various ways, so it may not be as dark and gloomy as it appears. However, many of the people e-mailing it to MOVIEGUIDE® are gleefully happy to show how rotten Christians are.
This is not good. This is where I agree strongly with the writer. Because we are not talking about reality here but perception, we must recognize this is our witness to a lost and dying world ...
Christians need to be involved in culture – shaping, changing, redeeming and reforming the culture; and, we need to be very careful that culture doesn't corrupt or undermine our faith. We need to be the agents of change, rather than the other way around.
It's almost as if the evangelical community has said, "It's their choice. If they want to die and go to hell, let them ... I'm not going to try to stop them. So get out of my way while I go enjoy some of what they've been enjoying for eons."

Baehr rightly reminds us Scripture admonishes us to not even give a hint of the "appearance of evil."
