MAINLINE DENOMINATIONS HAVE BEEN ...

... accused of turning a blind-eye to the plight of Palestinian and Israeli Christians. And, it is reported, this is not the first time they've been accused of taking the side of Palestinian terrorists who oppress or attack Christians who live and work in their region.

After years of blaming Israel for the suffering of Christians in the disputed territories, leaders of mainline Protestant churches are keeping mum about the Muslim riot in Taybeh that destroyed the homes of 14 Christian families on Sunday, Sept. 4. When the terms Protestant or Mainline are used here, the JCA intends American to be understood; mainliners are traditionally seen as the Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, and Presbyterian bodies.

I am proud to say that the Southern Baptist Convention has been on the frontline for
over a hundred years, passing public resolutions stating our body's postions on Israel and religious freedom in Israel, opposing Palestinian oppression of Christians, and promoting relations with our Jewish friends. We've also openly promoted a solid Christian presence in the region.
