Iraq's oil-for-food programme was overwhelmed by "illicit, unethical, and corrupt behaviour" but did provide basic nutrition and health care for millions of Iraqis under Saddam Hussein's regime, a report will conclude today.
Two thoughts:
- I suppose bringing a woman her mail on the way to assualting her would be considered providing basic consideration and kindness and
- Saddam Hussein's regime already provided enough nutrition and health care for the nation's survival; so I don't know what it is the UN is claiming to have provided. Remember coalition forces found warehouses full of oil-for-food medical supplies, and I believe UN food.
