REMEMBERING 4th ANNIVERSARY OF 911 - And what we've learned!

Not much; but there is some reason to see a silver lining in the clouds about us!

On the negative front ...
Many public servants continue to act like spoiled celebrities seeking a role in the next blockbuster ... or worse, as petulant children. The post 9/11 spiritual euphoria has long ago blended with the stench of selfishness. Money is still the answer to every problem - personal or governmental.

The shallow, vain, and self-possessed blue-staters have made a remarkable counter-attack against the perceived original counter-attack of red-staters.

Due to inflated egos, an absence of focus, and bureaucratic foot-dragging, there is still no "ground zero" memorial for those who lost their lives. As a result of this and the effects of Katrina, four more years may pass before real construction begins. And their families continue to seek closure.

And the GWOT continues unabated; OBL is still alive and well and in hiding.

On the positive front ...
Americans are still the most giving people on earth when it comes to disasters and simple human need. Volunteerism is still our number one hobby; and our ability to care about others in need is incomparable. As the faux spiritual high dissipated, it was replaced by a sincere effort to find hope and meaning in life; many are seriously eavesdropping on the religious.

Morals, ethics, and values are no longer politically incorrect. Disparities in worldviews are revealed and discussed for the better.

Four years after the attack on America the 9/11 Commission is due to issue a follow-up report on recommendations made as a result of their investigation. Certainly we can see the world has become cognizant of the dangers of global terrorism; at least they're aware there is one world leader who is dead serious about taking the fight to the terrorists. In spite of four years and billions spent we've not taken out the real leaders of terrorism - Wahabbism.

Conclusion ...
In the light of the Katrina screw-ups, I fear our government will do something stupid like insert another layer of bureaucracy between FEMA and DHS, or just between DHS and the people they are supposed to serve and protect ... aarrrggghhh!

When all is said and done it will probably be a bunch of Ivy League law school grads who turned to politics or government to make a living who screwed everything up ... they have a great track record in American history of doing so!

My real concern is for revival in the church ... every church goer in this country needs to examine himself to see if he has a religion to practice or a relationship with God [1 John 5:9-13]. He should examine every aspect of his life, and see if it is focused on things of this world [1 John 2:15-17] or on things above [Colossians 3:1-3].

But the American people are an amazing people and no one will keep us down, male or female. If you want to read why go here!
