A federal court judge today barred the speaker of the House of Representatives from permitting the saying of sectarian prayers at the beginning of session days.I would sever my relationship with any organization if they interfered in any way with my conversations with God. I either pray as led or I don't pray at all.
From a biblical point of view we are challenged to bear witness anytime we are given opportunity to do so; on the other hand, the affairs of the House are Caesar's business and not that of the church. We are transparent hypocrites when we insist on a voice in Caesar's house but are to busy to pray for him or his government.
The Indiana Law Blog has the whole story.
Christian; Church state; Courts; First amendment; Indianda; Judges; Prayer
