QUEBEC: I guess it's in the language!

I had always believed it was in the cuisine, but news from the French-speaking province makes me think apostasy and stupidity are in le france.
A small group of priests in French-speaking Quebec has taken the rare step of openly criticizing the Catholic church for its opposition to same sex marriages and the ordination of active homosexuals.

The 19 priests wrote a letter to Quebec's bishops complaining that the arguments used by the church "had caused confusion and disagreements" among the faithful.
This confusion and disagreement? Could it be the Bible says things you don't like and so you get confused and irritable?
"Does the church necessarily have the last word on the mysteries of political, social, family and sexual life?" asked the letter, which was published in Sunday's edition of La Presse newspaper.
Duh! Of course not! But THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH does; and He isn't Benedict XVI.
"In these matters, the official teaching of the church has been shown to be wrong more than once."
Children, pay attention! Sadly, a quick read of church history will show that "the church has been shown to be wrong more than once." I think Reformers have been saying this for ... what? Fifteen hundred years? Does this story get any better?
The Catholic church in Quebec acknowledged there were tensions among believers over gay marriage but tried to play down the letter.
Perhaps this will explain the problem ...
Every man's way is right in his own eyes,
But the LORD weighs the hearts.
Proverbs 21:2
