JACKSON/KRAUSS: Alison will produce Alan's tribute to Bluegrass ...

... due for release "around the end of September."

This is great news; two of my absolute favorite performers, together for a major work.
Alan JacksonAlison KraussTwo of music's most acclaimed and respected talents are collaborating on what's sure to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2006 as Alan Jackson enlists 20-time Grammy winner Alison Krauss as producer on his upcoming studio album. The album marks a collaborative reunion for the pair.

After a few test recordings, the two were satisfied that the project could work and they have been working in the studio putting together a new album. ... Alison and Alan worked together before on the Christmas song, The Angels Cried for Jackson's "Honky tonk Christmas" album three years ago.

Alison's work with country has been very successful as "Whiskey Lullaby" with Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss proved by winning numerous awards. The recent Country Music Association awards found Alison and her band Union Station collecting many country awards. This surprised even Alison but, it shows the interest is definitely there to bring bluegrass back to country roots.
