If you will guarantee me two things, I will go along with you on your desire to ban torture:
First, guarantee me the means to enforce the ban is now in place;

Second,
guarantee me you will bring an end to torture in these five nations before you bring it to an end in one Western nation ... China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Syria.
If you can't or won't, don't talk to me!

Oh this is really great advice

... instead of telling the parents to take the kid to the emergency room after he takes rat poison, you tell them get busy acting like really responsible parents because the world is watching. Wonderful!
John Danforth, an Episcopal priest and former U.S. senator, warned Thursday that the church risked irrelevancy by focusing on divisive issues such as gay clergy and same-gender couples.

Instead, Danforth said the denomination should turn away from the "inside baseball" of church politics and put its energy behind reconciling a world increasingly polarized by politics and religion.
Now this is better advice ...
"We've reached a moment where it is very difficult, indeed I think we've reached an impossible moment, in holding it together," Duncan said.
Why would I consider this good advice and the other not? Because the other is the wisdom of this world [James 3:15] and the latter is consistent with Scripture when it says,
... when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it. For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may become evident among you.

And I say again, when one cow comes down with mad cow, you should immediately separate your healthy beef from the tainted, and then move on! Otherwise you jeapordize your whole herd.

Al Aqsa official: Jewish temples existed - WND
Contradicting most of his colleagues, a former senior leader of the Waqf, the Islamic custodians of the Temple Mount, told WorldNetDaily in an exclusive interview he has come to believe the first and second Jewish Temples existed and stood at the current location of the Al Aqsa Mosque.

The leader, who was dismissed from his Waqf position after he quietly made his beliefs known, said Al Aqsa custodians passed down stories for centuries from generation to generation indicating the mosque was built at the site of the former Jewish temples.
That's nice, but this is the Church Age and the temple of God is being built with living stones [1 Peter 2:4-5].

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE

Along with Australia, Jamaica has joined the ranks of those with their heads screwed on right and their God-given common sense intact.

Christian lawyers take on charter on same-sex marriages -
Jamaica Gleaner News
The lawyers Christian Fellowship (LCF) yesterday scored a victory when the Joint Select Committee of Parliament, considering the proposed Charter of Rights Bill, agreed to accept a proposal from the group's president specifically banning same-sex marriage.

Shirley Richards, LCF president, said the word 'marriage' should be defined in Clause 13 of the bill.

"We propose that the word 'marriage' be defined as being the voluntary union of one man to one woman for life, to the exclusion of all others," she said.
Amen! And amen!
