FOLEY FOLLIES: Sorry! Couldn't Resist the Pun!

When the Donkeys make a mess I howl, so it's only fair to point out the sick mess the Elephants have made!

When a few Equus asinii poop in their stalls it's bad enough; but when the Washington clique of Elephantidae poop in theirs, it could take army to clean up the fertilizer.

The Washington Post says ...
A thorough and prompt accounting is needed of what colleagues knew about [Rep. Foley's] behavior, when they knew it and what they did about it.
And The New York Times says Aides Knew of E-mail in Late '05 and Rep. King is quoted as having said ...
"Anyone who was involved in the chain of information should come forward and tell when they were told, what they were told and what they did with the information when they got it," said Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York. Mr. King called it a "dark day" for Congress and said, "We need a full investigation."
John Heilprin of MSNBC reports the FBI is to look into mess & that Hastert, the White House, and Democrats have all called for a criminal probe ...
Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada called the Foley case ''repugnant, but equally as bad is the possibility that Republican leaders in the House of Representatives knew there was a problem and ignored it to preserve a congressional seat this election year.''
But not everyone is jumping on the bandwagon; my friend Mark Coffey at Decision ‘08 says The MinuteMan Is Smelling A Rat ...
Speaking of uncoordinated political attacks by Democrats, the MinuteMan is smelling a rat ...
Mark goes on to list several posts by bloggers (right and left) that are making him and others suspicious and cautious.

The Scotsman wants to get in their two cents - Republican cover-up charge over sex e-mails to boy, 16 ...
Mr Foley could now be prosecuted under laws he helped enact as chairman of Congress's missing and exploited children's caucus, a role in which he often vowed to root out child predators.
Yahoo! says, Hastert requests criminal probe of Foley and Reid offers more ...
"Under laws that Congressman Foley helped write, soliciting sex from a minor online is a federal crime," Reid said. "The alleged crimes here are far outside the scope of any congressional committee, and the attorney general should open a full-scale investigation immediately."

In his letter to Gonzales on Sunday, Hastert asked the Justice Department to investigate "who had specific knowledge of the content of any sexually explicit communications between Mr. Foley and any former or current House pages and what actions such individuals took, if any, to provide them to law enforcement."
I hate to admit it but Reid makes sense for once, let the pervert suffer under his own hand.

The Washington Post and the CRIB find one aspect "troubling" ...
The system of congressional pages offers valuable experience for teenage boys and girls but also puts a burden on Congress to ensure that the young people in its care are not subject to sexual harassment or abuse.

In 1983 the House censured Reps. Daniel B. Crane (R-Ill) and Gerry E. Studds (D-Mass.) for sexual misconduct with pages. Given that history, initial reports about the institutional response to questions about Mr. Foley's behavior are extremely troubling -- suggestive of a self-protective desire to sweep the problem under the rug rather than to put the well-being of pages paramount.
Stop The ACLU has the Mark Foley Flashback from You Tube: If I Were One Of Those Sickos ... go see it for yourself, Foley speaks to John Walsh of America's Most Wanted ...
May all the laws this man helped create to protect children and punish those that prey upon them be applied to him. Of course he will get a slap on the wrist however, being that he is from the Congress elite where the same laws the rest of us are held accountable to do not apply.
We'll all have to wait to see what happens here but if true, Foley is the poster girl for all that is wrong in Washington DC and in politics. Sick!!!
