ABC decided to cancel a counterpoint concerning the pulling of a PBS episode following Education Secretary Margaret Spelling's rebuke of PBS. The episode involved two lesbians and their children.
Stephen Bennett (a former homosexual and executive director of SBM) was scheduled to offer an alternate view supportive of Spelling's decision. According to Bennett, he believes he was "booted because of the lesbians' intolerance and bigotry toward him for being a former homosexual."
