PORNO-WOOD - A Jewish connection?

As the dialogue over the "red state" and "blue state" dichotomy continues, any observer has to notice the decibel increase coming from the entertainment industry, especially in Porno-wood ... almost as if on cue, the industry's movers and shakers became "desperate" to push the envelope.

On the surface it appears the increase is somehow tied to the public's reaction to Janet Jackson. But I would suggest it is more closely tied to the success of Gibson's The Passion of the Christ and the subsequent and overwhelming victory of the Republican's values-based message of last November.

Considering the length of time it takes to produce a new TV series or movie, it would seem the Passion relationship is just about right. For knee-jerkers, the obvious villain is the industry itself, which is pruriently perverse, genitalia obsessed, and dedicated to titillating the voyeur in all of us. But this is too easy an answer for the sudden increase in garbage production.

Assuming some thread of connection between the increased production and the public's current dialogue on values, who in the entertainment community would have a specific or subconscious desire to do all they could to thwart or subvert the "values" groundswell and the message of the Christ? Ben Stein, writing in Eonline.Com today, suggests a possible Jewish connection; Marlon Brando suggested the same long before Stein.

Again, assuming the connection might have merit, what is the motive? It can't be money, since for the past few years the biggest money makers are movies with family values messages. I might suggest a specifically Christ-centered movie, in a predominantly Christian nation, might make a few "Chosen People" nervous.

However, Stein introduces another partisan - Ivy Leaguers. Jewish-Americans may have run Porno-wood when it was still Hollywood, but not since Harvard and Yale sent its agents of perversity west. Now it is a cooperative.

Now if your world-view was Ivy League based and your life's vision was formulated in their hallowed halls, the increase in value related speech would be very threatening. A God? A Savior? Morality? Inspired writings? Traditions? Heaven? Hell? Absolutes? Now that could upset any secular-humanist's apple cart!

Neither thesis is conclusive but together they inspire some thought, don't you think?
