The Howard Center and the Sutherland Institute are promoting "The Natural Family: A Manifesto."
WARNING: though the content of the manifesto seems to be religiously neutral, both of these organizations appear to be associated with the Mormons; and, as is often the case with them, they like to operate clandestinely through arms length associations ... which always troubles me. And you must register to obtain a copy of the document. The document does define the family, its importance, and its values; and it provides excellent documentation. The goal of the group is admirable and I agree in principle ... BUT I'm not sure I want to sign it and be identified, though indirectly, with the CJCLDS.
Agape Press reports ...
At a press conference this week, co-author Dr. Alan Carlson said the document is to remind our society of the importance of the family unit for one reason: "Healthy family life and healthy societies advance and decline together."
I would appreciate hearing from any of you who have additional information on this "manifesto."The "natural family," Carlson said, is viewed as "the union of a man and a woman through marriage for the purposes of sharing love and joy, propagating children, providing their moral education, building a vital home economy, offering security in times of trouble, and binding the generations."
