REVELATION OR REVELATIONS - Biblical or fictional?

Only Scripture is inerrant and infallible ... television is neither of these, it's entertainment ... it's fiction!

NBC's isn't claiming its new six-hour mini-series Revelations is biblical or Catholic or even Christian, but the network is claiming the show is great television. They delivered on that claim ... in spades!

Absolutely first-class scripting, directing, acting, staging, editing, special effects, and suspense.

As for blasphemy and offensive material? Neither! Unless you think Dante's Inferno was blasphemous and offensive too! As well as Boy's Town, The Devil at 4 O'Clock, The Bells of St. Mary's, The Staircase, etc.

That said, I admit that Hollywood, the major networks, and cable television have betrayed those with family values ... they've done it before, they'll do it again. Will they do it with Revelations? I have no idea ... after all, this is episode one of six!

All I can say at this point is that I can't wait for the next episode ... and, oh yea, there is an undercurrent of wonderment about the supernatural and the possibility that there is a God and that He just might be the God of the Bible.

RATING: as entertainment television = three thumbs up; as biblically accurate docu-drama = one thumb down.
UPDATE: The CRIB received some last minute support for its opinion here ...
