I don't buy it and you shouldn't either ... that is, the press reports of shock that the "boys" (I call them cold-blooded murderers) were home grown. Everywhere we look the British Muslim community is professing ignorance about how this could have happened. Ha!
Some of you may have just gotten off a banana boat but this Joe hasn't! You will never convince me that the local Leeds Muslim community in general and British Muslim leadership in specific did not know what was going on. Never! Never! Never!
The "pig in a poke" quotation origin.
The family of Shehzad Tanweer - whose bomb killed six people on a Circle Line train to Aldgate last Thursday - were yesterday said to have been "left shattered" by the news that the 22-year-old was a suicide bomber. His uncle, Bashir Ahmed, 65, said his nephew went to Lahore in Pakistan for two months earlier this year to study religion, but was "proud to be British". Scotsman.ComSure, right! Terrorism is front page news all over the world and your nephew, from a poverty stricken ethnic community, is sent, at great expense, to a fundamentalist religious school in Pakistan and you are surprised, shattered, and embarrassed. The immediate families couldn't afford to send these murderers there; this was a communal effort. Sheesh!
