ANOTHER PROMINENT CHURCH ...

... official bites the dust.
The newly named top executive of the Christian Reformed Church has been forced to resign just three weeks before he was to take office.

The Rev. Calvin Bremer was asked to step down by CRC officials who felt he showed bad judgment in seeking to promote a female colleague to a prominent CRC post.

Bremer resigned July 29 both as executive director of the CRC and director of the Back to God Hour, the denomination's worldwide broadcast ministry. He was to assume the CRC's top administrative post Aug. 22.
If you think I get any joy out of reporting this, you are smoking something you shouldn't be. Though not a moral failure, as in the David Seamands case, this is still a black eye for the Body and a reproach to the LORD. These are not good days and we should find no comfort in these failures. Pray for them and there organizations.
