SMALL CHURCH MINISTRY ...

... is not an easy row to hoe!

With limited staff and volunteers, the small church pastor prepares for the weekly tithe of time and worship, laboring to feed His sheep with fresh lush grass from His pasture; hoping and praying the Great Shepherd will send new lambs to fill the sheepfold and refresh the life of the assembly. And he does, often.

However, in the same way people treat one another, they seem to treat small churches -- prejudging, seemingly unwilling to invest time in discovering who they really are and what God is doing in their life.

Placing unrealistic expectations on others (read small churches) before getting to know them is certain to end in disappointment or disillusionment .

This is devastating to relationships ... and to the small church (apparently this kind of polluted water runs off the back of the mega-barn and larger church due to their size).

Don't misunderstand, there is no task more challenging or rewarding than small church ministry ... I for one cannot think of anything I'd rather be doing! And that means being the pastor of a large church!

Oh, okay ... a little larger perhaps.
