We can take care of hundreds of thousands of South East Asians when they are swamped by a record setting tsunami, we can overwhelmingly respond to the needs of nearly two million affected residents of the Gulf Coast of the USA, and we can liberate 52 million people in less than four years, but we cannot get educations for fewer than 800 thousand children. Amazing!

Seventy-five percent of the estimated 1.4 million children between the ages of seven and 14 in southern Sudan do not have access to education, according to the Sudan Millennium Development Goals Interim Unified Report.It really angers me to hear of the situations in the Sudan and Niger, the horrible governments of the Congo and Zimbabwe, and all of the suffering people. But it really ticks me off when the kids get thumped for the grownups bad behavior!
