... King Richard is sitting at his round table discussing a problem confronting the kingdom. One of the knights presents a solution. Richard says, "You mean you want to throw money at it?"
Of course this is reminiscent of what our government does every day ... the vote to throw our money at their problems. Islam has a PR problem in the USA, so an oil rich Saudi businessman/prince has a novel solution ... throw money at our universities, that ought to do it!
A prominent Saudi businessman said yesterday that he is donating $20 million each to Georgetown and Harvard universities for the study of Islam and the Muslim world as part of his philanthropic efforts to promote interfaith understanding. One aspect of this effort I like is that similar gifts are being made to universities in Cairo and Beirut. I wish him luck but as one commentor asked at Free Republic (HT), "would he accept the money for Christan Studies in Saudi Arabia?"
