The fact that I didn't know that this brouhaha has been going on for some time doesn't lessen the seriousness of the porn issue.
A church would have to think long and hard before allowing a cell tower on its property. This is not at all like shopping at a Ralph's or Albertsons where liquor is sold. This is conspicuous complicity in the distribution of porn ... not to mention the possible health risks.
What with Playboy and Hustler publicly promising to deliver the raunchiest garbage to any cell phone in the USA, a church would have to deliberately ignore the implications of that promise.
They should find the locations they need to broadcast their filth without the help of the Bride of Christ ... at least the "authentic" Bride. The potential of additional revenue for cash strapped churches is enticing.

Protesters have launched a campaign against mobile phone masts on an Edinburgh church - accusing it of profiting from the spread of pornography.Churches all over America have these cell towers and they've been locked into long-term leases with mobile phone service providers.
The campaigners say planned Vodafone antennaes on top of St Paul's, Pilrig, will help the company roll out its mobile phone "adult entertainment" service as well as posing a health risk to their children. The deal will see the church on the corner of Pilrig Street and Leith Walk receive cash for installing three Vodafone antennaes on its steeple.
