PREACHING: In season and out of season!

However, some seasons are rougher than others. [2 Timothy 4:1-2]

The headline said Police arrest pastor while proclaiming the Word; at least we hope it was the word of God. I remember another Lutheran pastor who advertized he would be "preaching on the gospel in Mary Poppins at this Sunday's morning worship sevice." Yahoo! He was ELCA though!
... members of a Lutheran parish on Chicago's far South Side said they are outraged police arrested the Rev. Jimmy McCants in the middle of his sermon.
It seems the pastor has been in the middle of a dispute between at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He does have his denominational supporters, which is encouraging since most denominational workers leave their clergy fallen and bleeding on a ministry backroad ... hoping it'll be over soon.
"They have removed a pastor inappropriately," said the Rev. William H. Ameiss, president of the Northern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. "The real tragedy is the ministry gets put on hold for a power struggle."
McCants got in the last word, it seems ...
"My church is the house of the Lord, ... I intend to go back next Sunday."
Jesus forgive us for what we've done to your Bride, for we know not what we are doing.
