SERVANT DEATH: Anthony Burger (5 June 1961 - 22 February 2006)

This man could play the pie-anna like no one I know; what Holy Spirit driven energy this servant of God could put into a tray of ivories.
Anthony Burger, GAithers, Gospel musicAnthony Burger died Wednesday night after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 44. Anthony was in the Caribbean aboard a Bill Gaither Homecoming cruise this week and it was during one of Wednesday's performances when he suffered the heart attack. A family spokesman said Burger was doing what he loved best, playing the piano, just before collapsing.

Anthony is survived by his wife LuAnn, two sons, AJ and Austin; a daughter, Lori; his mother and father, Richard and Jean Burger; two brothers, Randy and Clinton Burger, and countless friends and loved ones.
Heartfelt CRIB condolences to LuAnn and all the family; and the Gaither music family ... what a loss.
When he was 8 months old, Burger suffered third-degree burns on his hands, legs and face when the wheels of his walker got caught on the grate of an old floor furnace and he fell. Doctors predicted he'd never move his hands again.

"But eventually the Lord healed my hands because He had a job for me to do," Burger said in a 1998 interview. He began playing piano when he was 3 and debuted on the radio at 5.
I am heartbroken we'll no longer be able to go to attend a Gaither Homecoming and hear him play, but glory to God he's playing for the King of Kings in an eternal concert in heaven ... now!
