Folks, this is not to be taken lightly. First, professing Christians choosing Islam as a substitute for "the Truth, the Life, and the Way" is a horrible indictment of the visible Church. Second, most of these immigrants have wishy-washy allegiance to their new nation ... Latin Muslims or Muslim Latins, whichever, are both a volitile commodity in the midst of the GWOT.Note how Islam's appeal is in many ways due to the failure of the church to exert a spiritual and moral influence in the culture. Now Islam is rushing into the vacuum. We will be seeing much more of this, and not just among our minority groups but among mainstream white Americans. [Cranach]
Both feel disaffected from their new and their old homelands; this disaffection is a breeding ground for discontent.
