TERRORISM: Do Islamic fanatics really think we'll just sit still while they slit our throats?

They're bigger fools than they appear to be if they do. Only one thing can cause their victory over the West - God's wrath against the West for her sins. And we have many, but unless it can be shown to be in prophetic Scripture ... it simply won't happen.

Western Civilization hasn't come this far just to sit still and be eaten alive like a racoon eats a roosting hen; we will fight and fight to the death!

Marvin Olasky, journalism professor at the University of Texas at Austin and editor of World Magazine, writes ...

Former White House speechmaestro Michael Gerson has penned a strong article for Newsweek on why we must fight the terrorists. Gerson writes that the U.S. "may be tired, but history doesn't care."

He also notes that "in a war where deception is the weapon and goal of the enemy, every mistake is not a lie; every failure is not a conspiracy. And the worst failure would be a timid foreign policy that allows terrible threats to emerge.

There are still many steps of diplomacy, engagement and sanctions between today and a decision about military conflict with Iran - and there may yet be a peaceful solution. But in this diplomatic dance, America should not mirror the infinite patience of Europe.

There must be someone in the world capable of drawing a line - someone who says, 'This much and no further.' At some point, those who decide on aggression must pay a price, or aggression will be universal. If American 'cowboy diplomacy' did not exist, it would be necessary to invent it.

A psalm is not a lullaby, as a Boston Herald column about terrorists notes:

"There are men out there who want us dead. This is undeniable. They want to see us all dead. Each and every one of us. They don't know our names, they don't know what our thoughts are about their grievances. They don't know what our actions are and how we've lived our lives. They don't care. They just want us dead.

"I wish I had a sweet, comforting post-Sept. 11 lullaby to sing the ones I love to sleep when they experience fear of these evil men. But I don't. Lullabies combat false monsters. Real monsters require something different. Psalms, like lullabies, give comfort. But they don't mask or deny the threat."

And then there is Dr. Andrew Jackson's RedBlueChristian suggestion that we need to "out" every radical cleric worldwide so we'll know who are really the trouble makers. The problem with such approaches ... though true, and necessary ... is that they don't result in an action plan. My action plan would be to track each and every one of them down ... .

One way or the other a lot of people are going to die over this before we end it, the sooner we start the sooner it is over ... I see no other reasonable way to deal with the unreasonable, no informed way to deal with the ignorant, no compassionate way to deal with those absent compassion, no political solution to deal with those who are apolitical, and certainly no moral way to deal with the amoral.
