Perceptions mean a lot in national elections. Here are more reasons why you should think very carefully about voting for the suave and debonier Senator from Illinois.

Arab-American voters also appear consistent with the rest of the population in that Arab Catholics -- including Chaldeans, Malachites and Maronites -- favor McCain, 53-31. Muslim Arab-Americans favor Obama 84-4.

The issue here has to do with the last sentence. "Muslim Arab-Americans" perceive Obama as favorable for a reason. Such a wide margin between Muslim and non-Muslim voters should give every voter pause.

It may be the standard liberal line that anyone who isn't for Obama is a racist, but James Zogby also went to bat for Mazen Asbahi, the Muslim Brotherhood linked adviser to the Obama campaign and it seems pretty clear he uses the Arab-American Institute to advance Muslim causes. John J. Miller says he keeps a signed picture of Yasser Arafat in his office.
