PERVERTS: IT'S ALWAYS BEEN THE OTHER GUY'S ...

... city and people that are involved in the perversions; like Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Or someone else's denomination; like the Catholics. Or someone else's city employees; like the fireman from Orange County. Or someone else's political party; like the Dems. Or someone else's school; like a progressive liberal college.

It's not supposed to be my city, my denomination, my city's employees, my party's leaders, and my kid's school.

What started this lament? Saturday's LAT article on a Riverside (CA) Internet child-molesting sting, and two men were specifically mentioned as being from La Verne, a Los Angeles County community more like a town in Arkansas or Iowa.

One guy was a former La Verne police officer currently employed as a HSA agent (Michael Burkes, 30); the other guy was a high school teacher who taught two of my daughters (Walter Babst, a math teacher at Bonita High School). Gggaaawwwddd!!! [UPDATE below]

"The men were very descriptive in what kind of sex acts they were going to do to these children," said Michelle Paradise, a Riverside County deputy district attorney who supervised the sting. "We know this is a prevalent problem, but to see 49 guys come through in three days, that's scary and alarming."

This got me thinking and with little effort I recalled the son of a church clerk, a veteren firefighter, with the La Verne Fire Department. That was just one of many recent encounters in my life.

Now a former HS teacher of my daughters' is discovered to have a problem with deviancy. Then a city policeman, who served and protected during our time here ... a man we depended on to keep our kids safe, instead four of my six kids were at risk. Aaarrrggghhh!!!

Folks, scratch the surface and you're going to see an Internet porn problem, scratch a little deeper and you're going to find many dysfunctional marriages. Men, we are having a problem and our women are aiding and abetting the enemy in our downfall!

UPDATE (18 Jan 2006): Meet the pervert our local government paid to educate our children (Walter Babst, 43) and the pervert the federal government paid to protect our families (Michael James Burks, 30) respectively.

The supposed age of the intended victim, 14 ... damn, that's barely old enough to shave her legs.
