SMALL CHURCH MINISTRIES ...

... must not just complain but proclaim the victories as well; else we become as Paul said, a noisy gong. It's one thing to voice complaints (horizontal), but where is God's honor if His handiwork is not recognized above all (vertical).

The visible church will trumpet one church's baptism of 300 on Easter Sunday on the beach at Cancun while at their annual Easter retreat and proclaim another church's youth concert with U2 receiving 500 for the Lord (these are representative and not factual) but miss completely the aggregate work of the Spirit for the same period.

Hypothetically, the total of small church baptisms in that same week might be 8-10 thousand; the small church contribution to "new young lives in Christ" for the same period might be as high as 20 thousand. My guess-timates might be somewhat off but they reflect the truth.

Yesterday, at our wonderful but small church, we had a "praise the Lord and pass the ammunition" day ... two new saints for the angelic host to rejoice over, two baptisms, and one baby dedication. The absolute numbers might not seem great to some, but to a small church this is revival and we want God to receive all the honor and to know how grateful we are when He moves in our midst.

Thank you Lord!
